My humidity jumps from 48% high during lights on to 25% low during lights off and my temperature jumps between 34 degrees celcius during lights on to 23 degrees celcius durings lights off. What can I do to deal with this? I live near Western Washington.
Do you already have an extractor fan, and are you making sure the hot spent air is leaving the grow area and not just being sucked back in?
Yeah working on that now. I don't really have a good intake situation thought since I only have one window.
As long as you get the air out that's the main thing, is they a wall vent? The pics show you how I do it, just make sure the vent isn't blocked. Mine was until I cleared it...
Take the vent cover off and see what's behind it, if it's rectangular you can duct tape cardboard over it and cut a circle. Sorry, but I can't call around and do it for you. Read through this site if you're a newbie to growing... http://www.growweedeasy.com/
Oh, actually it's an intake vent, not an out take vent. It pushes heated air into my room. I don't think I can push air back into it.
If its the vent that the furnace heat comes out of the answer is no. Maybe closing the vent will help if the heat to the house is on. Are you able to maybe exhaust the hot air from the tent into your attic? Or out a window? If its cold in your area and you use a window it will create steam which is not stealthy and you will definitely need a carbon filter and inline fan for the smell
I found it helps to spread watering the plants over a couple days. So if you have six plants water 2 on Mon then 2 on tues........So instead of pouring 3 gallons of water on one day which will cause a sharp humidity spike only water 1 gallon a day to 2 plants. If that akes any sense to you. Pretty much dont water all your shit on the same day!
I'm just gonna keep my heat off this winter. It's hot enough in my room as it is. Should balance out the cost of the light anyways.
Yeah actually my humidity has been really low after I fixed my exhaust. The temp is back to 29 and normal, but the humidity has dropped down to 31-35% . . So I'm going to get a humidifier and a more powerful intake fan. Should solve the problem.
