with alcohol they will only punish you if your driving drunk and putting others at risk, with cigarettes they will only punish you if you light up inside a public building putting people exposed to toxic 2nd hand smoke. No one is getting fined or arrested for simply possessing those things. I can possess as many packs of cigarettes and bottles of booze as I want and its all perfectly legal. Im not labelled as a "trafficker with intent to sell" for having more than I need for alcohol and cigarettes. But with marijuana you dont even have to smoke it public, you dont even have to be driving stoned, you can get arrested simply for possessing even the tiniest amount in your pocket. Whats the problem why cant people who prefer to use marijuana instead of alcohol have equal rights and what is it going to take for that to happen?
the more we get knowledge out to the masses, the more upcoming generations will be leaning towards weed more positively than negatively.
It's something I like to call ignorance. Everyone is guilty of it, it's up to you to educate yourself and form your own opinion. Forming an opinion without knowledge can just make you look like an ass BUT everyone has a right to that opinion. My problem is when people view their opinions as FACT. Just because you view a subject a certain way doesn't mean I do and I am sure as hell not going to live by your views on life, so don't try to force them upon anyone else. If everyone tried to understand this simple concept I am sure there would be a little more area for understanding.
....the masses have been herded effectively.... I want to know when the government will realize they can make more money off it (taxing business)than it being illegal.....THEN we have us a ball game...its slowly happening, but not if that fuck Romney gets elected
no they are not. the majority of people voting towards legalization(or something close to it) are too fucking young to vote. look atthis webstite. the majority are toyoung or are to un informed to make an actual decision. the masses havnt been 'hearded' yet, or it would be legal already.... we need MORE people. once MORE people are on the positive side, the govt will then see it. they dont see it yet, because there are not enough people supporting it the way they should be supporting it. thats why we need to get more knowledge out there. if we really wanna be technical about it, i say we get rid of our way of running things and start over, but thats not gonna happen hahahaha EVER. not in my lietime at least.
Because society has brainwashed the majority. And the majority are ignorant enough to believe it. With that said, I believe ppl are starting to "wake up" and i'm optomistic for the future.
weed is slowly becoming accepted.. more people are seeing that its harmless and more people really dont give a shit. people still have the same outlook on the stereotype but when it comes to legalization i think were moving forward pretty quick. the same dumbass misconceptions about it are not nearly as prevalent
We just need all the fucking baby boomers to die already
Amen! They are ruining our lives.
It's illegal and it's a drug. Media and govt have made it seem as tho pot smokers inject pot in their veins. It's wack
Most people (police included) have treated me better for smoking weed than any alcoholic who drinks as much as I smoke. Posting this here is completely irrelevant because everyone here is going to agree that people who smoke shouldn't be looked down upon. You are preaching to the choir my friend.
Well people frown upon the idea of doing "drugs" and weed is a drug, an illegal one in most places! The people are raised to believe that it is bad for them, because it is illegal. The government and other large companies controlling parts of the government make sure that weed is illegal for more profits.
Brohim and the rest of you who are blaming the boomers had better have another think! First off, who the hell do you think the hippies were? They were all baby boomers! Secondly, to back this up, you may want to take a peek at this old AARP survey! http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/19/national/19marijuana.html?_r=1 "Nearly three-fourths of Americans middle age and older support legalizing marijuana for medical use, according to a poll taken for AARP." So stop saying that it is the boomers causing this! It is a small, but very vocal group of former "Nixon Youth" boomers who are the problem, not the majority of the boomers! So to end the minority ruling over us all, speak up! Become an activist. Send letters to your politicians to counteract that uptight minority- they have nothing better to do than write letters now that they are retired! So they write a lot! Unless YOU get your ass in gear, and start working towards legalization, you ARE going to have to wait another decade or two for legalization. Once the medical facts about cannabis become known, the need for legalization becomes obvious! We just have to get that vocal 1/4 of the boomers educated, or else out-shout them! (I better have a smoke so I will be sweeter tempered for the next post! ) Granny
A majority of us would look down on people that do hard drugs, we dont know the lifestyle they live but we can look down still, its the same for people who dont smoke weed. I didnt realize this until my sister was convinced i was on "drugs" and it didnt click she was that nuts over weed. Some weed smokers even look down on tobacco smokers. Its just something that they don't like so they talk down. Its in every aspect of life man.
