We do "touch" the objects we sit on. As the definition of touch is the contact of one thing to another that we feel on the macroscopic scale, which is the electrostatic repulsions of atoms. That force is as solid as someone falling from a building and exploding on the ground.Touching is not the nuclei of two atoms grinding together.
