How can I tell if my 1000 watt hps is burnt out ???

I have a 240 Volt closet setup,,1000 watt eye hortilux super,,,1000 watt digital switchable ballast. All new,,it ran for 2 weeks,,now my bulb wont fire up. I hear the ballast clicking,,trying to ignite the bulb,,but it wont fire up. How can I tell if my bulb is bad,,,,any feed back would be appreciated THANKS!!!
