How can I tell if my 1000 watt hps is burnt out ???

    I have a closet set up with an eye hortilux super hps (1000 watt ) a digital switchable 1000 watt ballast, and have ran it for 2 weeks. Everything is new. My light stopped fireing up,,,,I hear the ballast clicking trying to ignite the bulb,,bulb but nothing is happening. Its a 240 volt set up. Any feed back would be appreciated THANKS :smoking:

    i dont know if you know this or not, but they recommend turning your lights off for 15 minutes per week( turn em off for 15 minutes every 7 days ) IF they are on 24/0 like mine.

    have you tried waiting before trying to fire it back up?

    Not yet,,,When i power up the ballast,,,it clicks repeatedly,,like its trying to ignite the bulb. Should i leave it on for a while to see if it fires up?? I dont want to fuck up the ballast. Thanks for the heads up about the downtime.

    just buy your self a bulb its a must have no point taking any risks with your lighting!
