How can I modify a food dehydrator to dry my bud?

  1. I have read that food dehydrators can run a bit too hot for drying weed, somewhere in the 95 – 145 degree F range. However, I recently came up on a free dehydrator and am trying to figure out the best way to modify it for my needs, ie reduce the heat at which it functions to 84 deg F. I'm hoping a vet out there with electrical know-how can help me out here. Can I just plug the dehydrator into a dimmer and adjust the dimmer until my ideal temperature is reached?

  3. Man, why dont you buy a small fan heater with a thermostat and adjust it to 20-22c. Dont point it directly on the weed tho.. I use a dehumdifier as its hot and humid here.
