how can i get denser buds

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by ewykowski, Sep 19, 2009.

  1. im growing outdoors and wondering how to get denser buds

  2. Time...and Fox Farm Nutrients.

  3. i'm looking into this question as well. the plants i have going right now have very "fluffy"(probably the wrong word) buds. i deffinately think the amount and intesity of light they get has to do with it.

unfortunately because of the spots i picked for the plants they don't get as much direct sun now as they did when i put them there. of course it's to late too move them too. research your spot to see how the sun hits it all day long. remember the sun changes path through the sky as the summer proggress too. that's what got me, i forgot.

i think nutes have something too do with it too. but this is my first grow season and i am still learning alot and the whole nute thing can be very intimidating, too me anyways.

my plants look good and smell great but they are deffinately not up too their full potential in density that's for sure.

  4. start feeding it molasses..... fox farms... big bloom and tiger bloom... the soluble are good too... havent tried them tho

  5. a lot of it has to do with the lighting. I used very basic nute on mine and am very pleased with the results. the stronger the intensity and longer the duration of sunlight it gets the denser it will be. the weaker light and shorter duration means the plant will try to grow up to meet the light instead of growing like a shrub in direct constant sun. The variety you planted also plays a role.

  6. i know my strand was good, even though it was bag seed. the bud i got it from was very nice, good smell, good high, and the buds looked nice. the seeds were one of them "wooo hooo" finds. i had to fight with the guy i got it from to keep them. he tried to make me give em back.

i deffintaley think it was my placement. they started good but i seem to have forgot the path of the sun changes through the season. now the sun goes behind some trees about 2 hours earlier than when they started. i don't get too see it cause i'm at work normally but i'm sure the time they get sun in the morning has changed as well.

  7. You need better lighting. Try finding a better spot with more intense light.

P.S. Sorry for being a dick in the other thread. I was just caught up in something else. :(

  8. Better genetics. Indca strains for denser buds.
