A single 600w HPS lamp covers about a 4x4/4x5 area. So the first question is how big do you plan on letting these plants get? 12 plants in a 4x6 area would be tough unless you keep them really small. Also keep in mind when you switch to flowering, the plants are going to just about double in size. Your flowering room should have at least twice as much room as your plants take up before you put them into flower.
