So I was wondering if smoke has a negative effect on plants as I have a forest fire burning pretty close to me.
They'll be fine unless they actually get burnt. Could slow growth if the smoke is to the point of blocking sunlight tho.
The fires shouldn't hurt them at all. A good friend of mine who grows and is a fireman swears the plants actually love a good fire because of all the added Co2 in the air. The studies I found show that high ozone levels from car and chemical pollution have negative impacts on plants, but they didn't find much correlation with the wood smoke. There's not much you can do anyway. Just keep em watered and happy like you normally would. If your plants aren't too far into flowering, you could spray em down once a week with fresh water to help keep the plants poors clean. I like to rinse the dust off now and then anyway.
