I hear alot of talk about how some games on PS3 online are really bad, for example I heard COD games online on ps3 are not good, I hear the games are not as competitive as Xbox live and I heard someone did a "jailbreak" on the ps3 like they did an iphone so now its filled with hackers or something? What are the problems with the online play and how does it compare to Xbox live? I'm really curious because I have an Xbox but I want to get a PS3 for the blueray and to play sports games on it.
I play on PSN everyday for hours and I must say it is awesome. I highly recommend a PS3 to you or anyone else that is interested in gaming online for free and likes to enjoy bluray movies. I am not going to rant and be a fanboy but I am just in love with my system and would like others to join in on the fun. I have to admit COD:Black Ops has not run very well since the release but that (in my opinion) has nothing to do with PSN, but with Treyarch who has no idea how to make a port for the PS3. The 2011 year will be bringing tons of great titles to the PS3 so that is also a plus. (I am excited for Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3 specifically) As far as competitive play goes, I have played on both systems and really see both Newb's and both highly competitive gamers. It is really not that obvious to me. If I could find a reason behind your "friends" comment about Xbox being more competitive it would be that they have to pay-to-play, therefore they spend way more time online? or there are just more xbox live subscribers? In the end, its your choice--but in all honesty, I cannot find a difference between the two systems in competitive play
The "jailbreak" was for MW2 and it was also done on Xbox. I have both systems, no difference... Xbox is better online but only because of Netflix, ESPN, and all that good stuff. So unless that is why you like live better then it is no different from ps3 online. I will also tell you to go ahead and get the ps3. For some reason I do enjoy playing games better on Xbox but ps3 is truly the better engineered system... In fact, it makes the Xbox feel like it's from a previous generation.

It isn't like he couldn't have had it before, or played with a friends account, or played at a friends house, or experienced it in many, many, MANY other ways. I mean is it that hard to make a post without adding this petty fucking bullshit to it? Anyways, I play some Black Ops on the PS3 and I like it, although I'm not particularly super competitive or anything. I actually just sold my xbox because I never play it anymore. The major reason I enjoy the PS3 over the xbox is because of the free internet, but it really is a more polished system all around.
I have both psn and xbox live. There really is very little difference... besides the extra features of xbox live. Gameplay is no different.
PSN works. people dont seem to communicate much in the games I play for some reason. XBL is better, but you pay for it.
no the jailbreak was not for modding one game that's a joke it's for piracy bottom line , backup managers allow you to stick a game in your ps3 and copy the game onto your ps3's hard drive.so you can borrow your friends game or rent it and copy it that's what hacking is for.
game hackers suck they give modded console a bad name ,all they do is piss off fellow gamer's and scare them away from owning their ps3 and taking full advantage of their ps3
i have a ps3 and i love it. the online is good. ps3 has considerably less hackers then xbox. also ps3 has an internet browser for anyone who has a ps3 here's how to get free movies. stagevu.com type in the movie u want in the search bar, make sure the download is in ur language and the proper length and click on it then mouse over where it says download and press triangle and go to file and save and it'll download. they arent always in the best quality but if ur computer is too slow to stream movies online its another way to watch em for free.prvt msg me if u cant figure it out.
