How are my plants doing after about 7 weeks

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Deleted member 1121682, Jun 15, 2020.

  1. Hello guys! I am at my first real attempt of growing my own cannabis. I don't have lots of money to invest in growing equipment. I germinated some seeds which I found in the weed I was buying in the last several months. I have 2 females at about 7th week in the vegetative stage(I think), one of them is shorter and bushier and the other one is taller and not so dense(which is worrying me). I don't know what strain they are, nor if they are auto or not... If you guys can tell me if it'd be the time to put them into flowering stage or if it's not worth yet, I would greatly appreciate your efforts...

  2. Forgot to say that during the first 6 weeks I only gave them natural sunlight(moving it into sunlight which was entering my room when available) and now I'm mixing sunlight when available with some cheap led lights for 22/24...

  3. I don't know much about indoor growing but I'd say at a minimum they need more light. My 4 week old outdoors are similar height but with way more branches and leaves.

  4. Omg, I've already put 3 bulbs (1 is 4000k and 2.5k lm and the other 2 are 3000k 1k lm). Maybe kelvins and lumens dont matter so much as the light quality and spectrum... ? Either way, right now I can`t afford better lights, but in the near future I will buy some full spectrum leds. But, would you suggest to keep them longer at 22/24 or should I put them to flower in a bigger closet, but with the same lights... ? Many thanks :).

  6. Hey dude, I'm on my first grow aswell and I used LEDs like yours for the first weeks. I recommend you to take off those balls around the LEDs, some are easy, some you need to force with something. Try to get some 18w and place them over the plants at like 30-35cm.

  7. The right panel I have 4 18w in the sides and 1 40w in the middle. It's good for first weeks of germination and veg but you need a lot of LEDs if you want your plants to grow nicely. Try to get them all the same spectrum (white light 6700k +/-)

  8. Nice, I`ll add some 2.7K and 6.4K CFLs soon. By the way, if my plant is showing sex does it mean it's in pre flowering stage? I'd like to keep them a little more in veg, to grow bigger so they'll yield more. And, is it a bad sign that the pistils have only 1 white hair coming out, and from what I've seen on internet they should have 2 white hairs... Thank you for your replies!

  9. Don't bother getting low spectrum right now. You want bright white 6000k +. The plant can be in veg as long as you want if you keep them with 13+ hours of light per day

  10. You should buy dual lamp sockets so instead of one bulb you could use two. Maybe 7 dollars each piece of the dual lamp socket. You will need more light during flower and you should expand your grow space.

  11. Thank you all for your replies. I noticed at my taller plant that the growth from top has twisted leaves, does anyone know the cause? They look healthy and green, but just twisted. Could it be because the plant's tip almost reaches the top of the grow room?

  12. And because the light bulb is not placed above of the their tips, could that be the reason for twisted leaves? They trying to reach the light from below their heads... ?

  13. Ok, they have a new room, in my closet :)). It's a little more space and now they have above their head the 4K led and I bought a new 6.5K cfl, and 2 leds on sides. I hope the problem was the light not being above their head and it will be fixed... I'll keep you up to date.

  14. There’re not Autos. It’s your 1st grow so be happy you got um this far. You can continue vegging and train um some but I would go ahead and flower then ask a bunch of questions moving forward.

  15. Nice, try to put the leds above them about 9 or 10 inches +/- away and make sure the cfl is as close as you can

  16. Aight buddy, gonna keep the ladies in veg till the end of the next week and hope for the best. Since I moved them in the closet the problem seems to slowly disappear(twisted leaves). I don't know if I should prune her anymore because I also don't want her to be too skinny and with few leaves. What do you think about this shape and the thickness of the branches before going to flower? Also should I let the lower branches grow and try to reach the top?

  17. At the end of the next week I'll put them to veg and buy some flower lights. Thank you very much for your reply. Also, what do you think about it's shape before flower?

  18. It looks tall and lanky. Really training should have started long ago. At this point your not going to have shorter , fatter , bushier plants with an even canopy so I would just go ahead and flower it and hope for the best.

  19. Here are a few pics of my grow. Notice how bushy. Lots of training gets them looking like that. Also proper lighting and amendments. I’m growing in a soilless organic mix with lots of amendments. Learn as you go along and apply the knowledge to your next grow

Wow, I wouldn't even dare to compare to you, sir. Right now I just bought some veg lights, hopefully next week I'm going to buy some flower lights, I think I'll stick with the current 4K led and 2 3K smaller leds, and I'll also add a bigger 2.7K CFL. What I'm aiming for the near future is a more expensive full spectrum growing led. Regarding my training, I know the topping should have been done much more earlier and with my small restrained growing space, I think I'd have been better without topping(christmas tree shape).
