We all know that shwag is just fields of wild cannabis harvested, leaves stems seeds and pistils, and is thus shitty. And dank is good genetics with the male plants usually weeded out (sometimes there are hermis, which would explain why sometimes you get dank bud with a seed or two). But what about mids? I mean, if I was growing bud I'd make it quality. After all, it doesn't take much work. I have two theories: mids are good genetics grown in shitty conditions (like Acapulco Gold), or they're relatively crappy genetics grown in decent conditions, or maybe there's just a whole separate world of "mid-strains". I mean, it looks like it's pretty much grown like shwag, only only the buds are harvested, and it's fairly potent. I'm pretty sure they come from out of state/out of country too. The dank stuff is mostly homegrown but I'm pretty sure mids come in shipments because sometimes the market floods with the same kind of mids everywhere, while other times we have the normal variety (like right now, the same kind of bud is everywhere, even in Maryland I think from me and my friend exchanging pics).
While i do mostly agree with you id like to point something out. You can take bagseeds from mids and grow some decent buds ... you can take a dank ass seed and fuck it up and get some seedy shit. When a plant gets fertilized it takes a lot of thc to creat the seeds / pods so its going to be more mid range bud.. keep only the females and more of the trichs are gonna be left
Mids are grew mostly the same as schwag. Large Commercial Grows in mexico. They are taken better care of than the plants schwag comes from, they are normally picked early and bricked up which is why its mid. If they took a little better care of it, picked right time and didn't brick it up, let it dry and cure like we homegrowers do then it would be excellent smoke. Mids is just Good Schwag. It all works out though because it helps us with shallow pockets!
I believe there are many strains of varying quality. If you use seeds from a medium potency plant, you can take the greatest care possible and get it to it's optimum potency, but it still won't be as good as a much more potent strain given equal care.
I think that shwag is just left to grow in masses, then once the time of harvest comes along, they probably check the triches on one plant and then just harvest everything. I think mids is somewhat the same, just grown with more care, such as harvesting the plant at the right time.
you can take any seed and it all depends on how you grow it. thats how it is going to turn out. if you grow it good and properly and then harvest and cure it right it will look good. but if u mass produce and harvest all at once, then bag it all up its going to look like mids. you can take a schwag seed and grow it in a hydroponics setuo and it will be bomb bud.
It all depends on growing and storage conditions. Some high quality bud can be badly dried, cured, and squashed and become quite low quality.
Woah... You guys gotta do your research on Cannabis. By you guys I mean the people who are talking about mids and schwag as if they were two completely different types of plants. Cannabis is a plant that produces a medicinal residue on the female flowers. Say a group of people plant 200 plants in Mexico in a field, they put no effort into male seperation and all the buds become pollinated. Once ready to harvest the men take the plants, let them dry and then stamp then into bricks to move them easier. They now have a lot of bricks that will sell for up to 100 dollars a pop in the states. This is what most would consider Schwag. Still Cannabis. Now, a couple of people in B.C Canada plant 15 clones in their basement growop. Each plant having its own genetics providing a different high. They take good care of them, hydroponics, lst, topping, etc... All the plants are clones so their is no females. Each plant produces gorgeous buds that are cured and dried to perfection. These men now have 60 ounces of bud that could sell for up to 400 dollars an ounce in the states. This has many names like nug, dank, flame,. Still Cannabis Now because Cannabis is a plant it's quality depends on where and how it is grown, anywhere from a field in Mexico to a Basement in Canada, and everywhere between. So as for where does mids come from? Putting the clues together I would say probably from plants that were grown in the wild in bigger numbers that were not tended to as needed. Plants that were not pollinated as heavily as some. The fact is stop categorizing your buds to such an extreme. Seems like everyone now a days has grouping for buds like schwag, mids, good mids, flame, blah, blah, blah. Weed is weed, depending on the time and effort into putting into it is what will come out.
In my humble opinion it's all about genetics. A strain will have a certain percentage of THC, the best strains having between 16 and as high as 20-23% THC. Some lower quality strains have 3-9% THC. You can grow it under perfect conditions and get a really good yield, but it will still be 3-9% THC. On the other hand, you can "abuse" some high THC strain and you'll still have killer weed, maybe just not so much of it. So, how and where you grow determines how MUCH bud and you will get. Genetics determines how "good" it will be. Also you have to factor handling into the equation. Roughly handled, poorly cured, too much chemical ferts, over-drying, even the best weed will suffer. So, again in my humble opinion, if you're going to go to all the trouble, use good stock, whether seed or clones. I've grown some outrageous stuff outside from bagseed, but why did I even bother to keep a seed at all? Cause it was GREAT stuff and most likely the offspring will be too. Goodluck to you on your grow adventure, keep an open mind and take all advice, especially mine, with a grain of salt!
You guys have it all wrong. When you harvest the plant, seperate the buds into, dank, the main cola and top branch buds. mids, the lower buds along the main stem and middle branches. schwag, any buds that do not fit in with the other 2 catagories. The biggy here is why would someone want to grow mids?
Yeah. Okay, I was wrong, the proper grading at harvest is large, medium, and small. However, my question still stands. Why would anyone want to grow mids? You'd think people would want to grow the best.
