How accurate are preflowers?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by astro, Sep 1, 2005.

  1. Hey seasoned growers, how accurate are preflowers in determining the plants sex? I've got what I think is a male because each node has one spike and a ball, but my plant is still under 24/hrs of light. The thing is I can't see anything on the rest of the plants so I'm wondering if it's an accurate way to tell. These are all bag seed as well. It's about a month and a half old.

  2. I usually hate bumping my own threads, but I'm hoping *someone* out there can help me with this...

  3. It should be very noticeable once you have around 7-9 nodes on the plant

The ball/spike is not going to determine it for you easily so just let it get bigger an wait for a very rose petel like shape with a tiny hair creeping out of the top

If you got that you've got a girl if it's a knobbly ball with no hair you can assume the plants either a late bloomer a hermie or just flat out a bollock filled male

Also if you have problems getting a good close up look you can try to use the mag's smaller bubble over a digi cam lense to catch it on a monitor blown up 2:1

    Hope that helps
