im currently growing jack the ripper and everywhere online has said 63 days for flower, yet im 4 days away from that and my girls are still shooting out white hairs. i showed my buddy and he claims they need 3 more weeks! i did have to add more lighting 3 weeks into the flip, would underlighting cause flowering times to extend?
Depends on the pheno but I just let them go till their done...the taste is nasty if you pick them early
Those numbers are there just as an approximation. There are so many different ways to grow and so many variables that its' near-impossible to pinpoint an exact date unless you know the setup and the plant very intimately.

Just my thoughts.. But those people that write that stuff up are, exactly what you said, breeders they have the best of everything at there disposal including the people with years of experience...
