How about: The INTERNET appreciation thread?

  1. I don't know about all of yous, but I remember when the internet was only limited to a select few. I'm 30 now, and I got my first computer when I was 12 in 1992. I had a fuckin dial-up 2400 Baud modem, which transferred at .2 KB a second. BBS's were the in-thing, and even then only nerds like myself were using them.

So, I make this thread to honor the Internet as we know it today, and to appreciate its evolution from ARPANET in the 50's and 60's to what is today!

Reminiscence is more than welcome in this thread!

  2. I remember when we first got the internet in our house. The first thing I looked up was cheat codes to Goldeneye64. Wow those were the days. I cant even believe I still remember that.

  3. I remember when we got a cable-modem back in 1998. I couldn't believe how much faster that shit was. - Playing Quake 3 Arena Deathmatch and shit. It was great.

I can't believe that was 12 years ago.
