Hotplate for vacuum purging help please

  1. Hey guys, so a little background.
I just had harvested a month ago and have ~2 lbs of popcorn and sugarleaf shake left over. Sometimes I make icehash but I normally just make coconut oil extract for edibles.
But times are changing, A few months ago my friend invited me over to watch and help make some BHO extract. He purged via a double water boiler which seemed kind of funky.
I now want to make some of my own quality BHO and have done some research. I've got a solid aluminium desiccation vacuum chamber and vacuum pump.

NOW what I need help with is what type of hot plate to get/ where to get it! I want to get a hotplate I can place my vacuum chamber on and heat to a constant 115-125F, but all the scientific hotplates I find are either in the $50-150 range and have a heat knob 1-10 with no low consistency or gauges.
The second range of hotplates I find are $300-500 and these have a digital readout of specific temperature but are to expensive and to hot.

    Examples of what I mean:

So where is the type of hot plate im looking for that's not to expensive and can maintain a low temperature? many of the plates boast of how they can reach 700-900F but I don't need anything that gets that hot.

Thanks for the help guys! All feedback appreciated!

What do you guys use for low temperature heating?

I've now been looking into low power electric skillets..

any help on the low temp heating would be a really big help!

  3. Get a griddle and an infared thermometer from Lowes or Home Depot. I have found that just below the ''warm'' setting is perfect for low and slow purging with a vacuum.

i use a heat blanket wrapped around my chamber stays about 100 on low 120 on medium
    and 140 on max

or get That griddle that shits easy, but watchout some griddles warm" setting is actually like 200F or you might have it set on 200 and the surface is only 100F and the way they click on an off isnt that steady.
the griddle i used to use Would hold a Steady 100F on 350F on the dial lol...

  5. Corning PC-400D is what you want. If you want a proper hotplate, you'll have to invest a bit. Quality costs ;)
