Hotboxing your blanket

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by ImTheMuffinMan, Dec 10, 2012.

  1. Just wondering if anyone has ever hotboxed their blanket on their bed? I just did it and it actually worked great. Haha.

  2. Yessir i have. Smoked a joint under my blanket. By the end it felt like it was 200 degrees and my eyes were burning like a mofo. But i was high as hell and my blanket smelled wonderful for a week or so.

  3. No I have not, but now I'm tempted... Brb :bongin:

  4. Did you actually do it, if so did u like it?

  5. Smoking in bed is an ultimate privilege, revered as the ultimate penance for Lord Marijuana

  6. I just smoked a bowl under mine while I was finishing up this philosophy paper for our final tomorrow. It was magical. :smoking:

  7. haha ive never done a blanket but i have hotboxed a small tent my friend set up in his basement 3 people and 3 blunts lets just say it got very smokey.

  8. Haven't hotboxed the blanket, but smoked in bed a few times. Once had a friend come into my room and wake me up, hand me my pipe, and then he had donuts!

  9. Definitely man, I've done it a few times. The first time was with one of my best friends (we we're already stoned, lol), and the most recent was with my girl. She had never tried it before, so I packed up a stacked bowl, grabbed a flashlight, and we got under a quilt on our couch. Needless to say it works damn well, the thicker the blanket the better.

However, I've yet to try it with a jay. :bongin: Next time I pick up though that's at the top of the "To Toke" list.

  10. Eyes burning? Fuck that shit. Irritating my eyes with smoke or inhaling co2 isn't going to make me higher.

    Never understood hot boxing

  11. Ha I remember doing this with my roommate when we were both freshman living in the dorms lol.

  12. Yeah, ive never seen the point to hotboxing either.

  13. It's not a difficult concept to perceive. By smoking in a smaller/ more confined space the smoke does not dissipate, instead it stays around you so you're able to continue breathing it even though you're not taking a hit. So really it can be pretty efficient in addition to being fun, especially with a fellow stoner under a blanket.

    Haha :bongin:

  14. But the smoke once exhaled has little to no cannabinoid content. The amounts of carbon monoxide and co2 only continue to increase when you re breathe the smoke. These in high enough concentration is toxic to us. In smaller concentrations, well you're just sacrificing oxygen for poisonous gases. Stuff in the body starts working weird and different when you start to deprive them of oxygen.

  15. All players keep a hot box in their blanket.

  16. They think the effect is from the weed, when they are actually sufocationg themselves..
Hot boxing doesnt get you higher, it starves your brain of oxygen..

  17. As far as the cannabinoid content is concerned, fair enough. However, it's not like people hotbox for hours on end man our body's are fine, lol. In reality depriving the brain of a little oxygen during a hot box sesh make one feel a little bit more of a head rush, but it's not dangerous or anything. Maybe you should get off your pc and try hot boxing sometime. :D

  18. Yes....but I accidentally kicked my cherried bowl into a "very special spot"

    :(

It can be dangerous. If you're smoking blunts for an hour, like I've heard on multiple stories here, you have been slowly depriving your brain of oxygen. And head rush isn't exactly something you want happening when you're body has less oxygen concentration in it. Lol. Passing out is the next step, and that is the brains way of protecting itself from harm.

Will it kill you? No. Will it cause any major side effects? No. But you don't know what kind of damage long term it could bring, just like most things in life. They found just cooking hamburgers on the grill releases a cancerous chemical that you ingest.

Cancer is on the rise, and the search for cancer causing agents is increasing day to day. There are perfect examples of things you thought were seemingly safe. Like eating burgers on the third grill regularly. 20 years later a doctor tells you that you have stomach cancer.

Not saying lack of oxygen will lead to cancer, but that the long term side effects of many things in life are still widely unknown. Why participate in activities that can be dangerous, but appear fine because "its not killing anyone".

I live my life by harm reduction. Because the unknown is likely to bite me in the ass one day, but I'd rather not have regret like "i knew it couldn't have been good when I was a kid, but I did it anyway and regret it now". Trapping noxious gases in a car is one of those risks I'd rather not participate in. Especially if it doesn't get you higher(even if it did I still wouldn't).

All that aside, I don't hot box cars first and foremost because I don't drive and smoke anymore. And when I did, I did everything I could to not bring attention to myself. A car or smoke parked or driving around was a no no in my books.

  20. For sure man, I've read people doing that shit too. I only hot box once in a while, and what you've said makes a lot of sense except for one thing:

Then why do you smoke weed? It kills brain cells and rakes one's lungs and throat.
