Hooking up my computer fan

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by NickW, Oct 25, 2010.

  1. How do i hook my computer fan up to a old pc power supply?
Does anyone know the link of a tutorial for it?

  2. do you know the input and output of it? i used the cord to an old internet modem all you have to do is put positive to positive and negative to negative

  3. use at least a ten volt charger like to a cell phone... dont use any higher than 12 volts too man

  4. just use a 12v converter plug, slice the wires and attach positives to negatives.

  5. Each bundle coming out of the power supply is capable of providing up to 12 volts. It might take some trial an error but you won't hurt anything, it will either work or not work.

Usually you want the black as the negative and the yellow for 12 volts. If you want the fan to run slower use black and red which will output 5 volts.

My whole rig is powered by 12 volt fans and one PC Power Supply. See sig #1 if interested.

    Cheers!
