Time to do more research, there's alot more to indoor growing than putting seeds in the dirt.

Poor mans set up would be a Rubbermaid with holes cut for exhaust fan and intake fan, CFLs are recommended. 100 watts ACTUAL not equivalent, 6400k veg 2400k flower. You will need a PH kit as well, nutes and humidity temp meter soil is obvious. I suggest going with Fox Farm Ocean Farm and you will not need any nutes for first two or three weeks or u will fry seedling. HPS or LED is smarter way to go for better buds but a HPS in a Rubbermaid isn't smart (fire risk). Your yield is directly proportionate to the light set up you got, with more lights comes more heat with more heat you need more ventilation. I suggest you start googling and YouTube DIY grow box's for ideas. Micro Grow section would be a good section to take a look at as well. Please refrain from posting multiple threads, the growers here will just be annoyed with you rather than help.

Do your research, start pricing things nobody is going to do it for you.

You can get a decent apollo tent and 400 watt ballast kit for under $200 on ebay. Depending on whether you want to go hydro or organics will determine further costs. Once you figure that out and then decide on an actual medium (water, coco/perlite, organic soil, etc.) you're going to have to buy about $20 in buckets or smart pots from home depot or where ever ( I say smart pots because they're worth it) .

If you go with hydro you're going to need something like maxibloom and you can google the lucas formula. You will need ppm and ph meters, air pumps, air stones, and possibly some calmag and pondzymes. This will be about $100.

If you go the organic soil route, you will need to buy some decent soil like fox farm ocean forrest, dolomite lime, perlite, kelp meal, earth worm castings, bat guano, an air pump, an air stone, a bucket, and molasses. This will be about $100.

 

I picked up a 450$ kit on ebay. 40x40 tent 400w HID and adjustable ballast. 6"fan w carbon filter and duct. Poke around on there and you'll find some good but affordable stuff (depending on budget).

Hobbylighting on ebay has some good kits available.

Speaking on behalf of anyone on a "budget", don't be afraid to cool your jets and save up a bit. Gives you time to research in the meantime.

You need to do some serious reading and research. Don't be lazy and expect other people to do your work for you. How do you think all of us figured out what we needed to buy to grow this stuff? We got down and dug to find out the information we needed. And, just a thought....please put as much effort into learning how to grow these plants as you do the kind of setup you're going to create to do it with. One doesn't work well without the other and they both require some base knowledge that you only get by doing the work. TWW

On a real note. If you watched any videos about germinating and planting seeds, the root won't find light.

With that said, is your planted seed placed under a small light?

I imagine if you plant and put it back into the same dark place your germinated in, the root may come out of the soil, providing you planted the taproot facing up.

As this sequence of events is damn near impossible to do on accident, you would have to try quite hard to get nature to work backwards.

Can you put a photo up?

Are you seeing small roots on the surface of the soil? This will most likely be from the pot being too small or the soil being too wet. A photo is needed for a proper diagnoses though
