The cities won't be completely free. Someone will have power to regulate trade and immigration. The cities are also empowered to eventually set up another democracy.
Hey Honduras I have an idea, rent out city to a libertarian community. You will have a Honduran Hong Kong within a decade.
I'm with bumtildeath. I was excited about the title of the thread...then it faded quick as I read the article. I misunderstood what 'privately run' meant. One quote from the article sums it up:

If all this talk of 'laws and police' simply means absolute freedom outside of directly harming another individual, awesome... If not, not that big of a deal really...except that it puts the idea of 'privately run cities' or land-spaces in general into the public consciousness
