I’ve starting to dig into this world of indoor growing and I stumbled across a hydroponic guide that recommended a nutrient blend called Hoagland Nutrient solution and I wanted to ask you guys what you thought about this nutrient composition and if it would work for the following Cloning Veg stage In soil (I’m going to start my first indoor grow as a hydroponic!..yet). image1011×706 106 KB My goal is to just make this stuff my self, I’ve worked with a lot of these chemicals before, they are easy to get, and I have access to some scientific equipment to allow me to make precise measurements. I’m very open to other nutrient compositions if you all have any, I ultimately just want to put something together that will be dependable and I can control my self.

Here is the issue with you project .. your guessing You have no idea what your NPK levels will be . With a Nutrient photometer and about 300.00 in reagents you don't need to guess Nutrient Analysis Photometer - HI83325 (hannainst.com)
You use a nutrient photometer to do soil analyses you know how hot your nutrient levers are and which nutrients you have and don't have . I use mine mainly in the hydroponic systems
I'm working on microplate assays using Hatch kits for that kind of analysis. I'm more interested in what the Hoagland solution will be able to do. I think you are getting at the monitoring I can do from day to day and then adjust the solution I'm using as I go along? Please don't get me wrong I do like that idea a lot! I find it frustrating in general that a lot of the nutrients people recommend don't have the detailed break down on them, I'm mostly concerned about the micros. I can make the Hoagland solution easy enough, Alpha Chemicals sells half of the reagents for what I need and I can get the rest from RPI corporation as need be.
I am doing this and never grown hydro before all I have is scales along with bluelabs EC and PH gear. Have you used the Hydro buddy program? I find it generally helpful.
