Homemade Bong question

  1. I just made a bong and after just a couple hits i started to get a headache. i was wondering if any of the materials i've been using are dangerous. i used a plastic bottle for the chamber, the stem was made out of part of a music stand that i sawed up, it had some paint on the outside, the bowl was from a nozzle thats use for icing cakes. i attached the bowl to the stem with eletrical tape. if any of these are harmful please let me know

  2. lol well theyre all harmful not really that bad tho, you probably smoked some paint or plastic avoid those at all costs they taste like crap when i make pipes/ bongs i use woood or metal

  3. everything i used was metal except the chamber

  4. You should generally avoid plastics and anything that is painted, and avoid copper, avoid glue.
A picture would make it much easier to give better advice.

  5. I used to make a lot of bongs from an assortment of materials. As long as the bad stuff (plastics and such) don't get heated up, you should be fine. If theres electrical tape wrapped around the bowl, make sure you wait to take a second hit in order to let the metal frosting thingy you're using (i hope it's metal) cool down. Otherwise, it will heat whatever its touching and possibly melt, releasing "the bad shit". Make sure you got a down stem that is metal too. Basically, if a part gets warm, make sure its made of glass, or the proper metals.

  6. thanks for the advice. i think i'll just stick to apples until i get a chance to go to a headshop
