In the area I live in, there are not any hydroponics stores that are not super far, so home Depot and walmart and tractor supply co. are my only stores I can get soil at, what's the best soil I could possibly get at these stores? I'm growing amnesia haze if that effects anything.
Where I live in Eastern Oregon, the local farm and ranch store carries Happy Frog. If not, get the best organic soil you can and if it doesn't already have a lot of perlite, you can add it for additional drainage. You can also get a bag of worm castings online if the soil doesn't have it. Happy Frog has all of that so it's rich in nitrogen and drains very well. I would think a Home Depot garden center would have good options.
Go to Home Depot and Get either of these soils: Kellogg Garden Organics 2 cu. ft. All Natural Garden Soil for Flowers and Vegetables-6850 - The Home Depot Black Magic 1.5 cu. ft. Potting Soil-1010172403 - The Home Depot They are both very suitable for cannabis. I would personally probably go with the Kellogg soil only because it is a good bit cheaper. You're gonna want to pick up enough perlite to mix in along with your soil. You should be fine with anywhere between 25% - 40% in your mix.
Would this work? It's 25 bucks a bag but it's the best I could find NOBLE WORM ORGANICS WORM CASTING SOIL, 1 CU. FT.
Ah true can be. If you plan on doing this for a while, can always make your own super soil. Take normal soil, add your own thing. Bat poop, bone meal ect ton of resources for that and compost tea. Can even get some worms Just feed for thoughts. I would watch a few things on about it but up to you. For your question though you have to need a game plant. Do you want to look for something low in nutes, don't really get miracle grow. Yes you can but most consider it "hot" high in nutes were it hurts the plants. You canal so take soil and mix it with potting soil. Or use potting soil. But in the end you are looking to save money remember it's a weed. Weeds grow any were and are hard to kill. Hope that helps with out rambling too much heh..
P Hey I am not 100% on the price can range. Best to look it up and check prices but learn about it first before you decide. I do hydro now been a long time for me.
Looked into it and it looks great but I don't want to spend that kind of money on my first grow. Maybe after this is successful I'll think of doing that
Hydrogalaxy.com has all you need, and they're reasonable for most stuff CanniAnnie's Quest for balance
That's cool just something to keep in mind. But you do need to decide if you want to use your own feed for them. Some potting soil+perlite (mix it 70% soil 30% perlite to help drain and not over water.) and kiss method (you use maxi bloom for nutes, google it lots of info.)may be best for you to try growing first. Also pick up cal/mag with maxibloom if you do that, just in case. Make sure your bags are sealed that you do buy, other wise could have bugs. You can also look to see if you have nurseries around to get some good soil.
I guess I'm lucky, my local store's are finally carrying fox farm soils and nutes. Talk to your supplier's! They're gonna miss the band wagon! dilligaf
I havn't grown in it yet but I bought the kellogs raised bed and potting soil. It has pretty much the same things as ocean forest including bat guano and worm casings. Also it also says you can plant directly into it. However it is low on perlite. I am also going to dilute it a little with pro mix and add perlite.
Home Depot will ship free to your local store anything they sell.. 3 CF 2 cubic feet bag 1 CF so get 2 or 3 Home depot stocks all 3 items and will ship free to your local store and that's about all I'd get from any of the box stores.. Check craigs list for a local worm and casting supplier and get your own worm farm started the sooner the better.. 1000 worms should be about 25 bucks and that's a good starter bunch Skip the blood and bone meals as they are slaughter house floor scrapings and you can find better Grab a bag of organic bunny chow alfalfa pellets from the pet store is a better choice.. Would that be a just add water? Or would I also need nutes. Also how many plant do you think I can get out of the big bag?
As far as nutes the soil alone will carry into flower. Adding the ff nutes will boost it thou. Once flowering nutes will be needed. 1 big bag will carry 2 plants from seed to finish maybe 3. Assuming you finish in 5gal CanniAnnie's Quest for balance
