Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Burnone1979, Jul 6, 2019.

  1. Anyone have any ideas? Only one on the plant. Almost perfect hole.

  4. Yeah, that doesn't look very nice. Something bored in there. Like @sdrodbuster said, could be a caterpillar, or worm or borer beetle. I would take some bleach and wipe area around it, and dry to put some drops in to hopefully try to kill whatever is in there, and hope for the best. Could also try soaps, or your go-to pesticide. But, there could be risk that if anything thats still in there dies/rots it could spread a disease or fungal thing. But I would try that myself. Bleach (full or slightly diluted) should kill any potential mold spores. Sometimes around deep harvest time, I will spot 1 or 2 patches of mold on a stem. Have this nice beautiful plant, and right on the stem/branch somewhere this gray semi-fuzzy mass of mold. Ill take a rag /paper towel wetted in bleach and carefully, without spreading it/having it flying around, rub it off the plant--capturing it in the rag, just slightly to the fleshy region (usually the mold will eat away, so as soon as its removed, the fleshy area will already be exposed). Then maybe gently rub the "cleaned-off" area again with clean part of rag/another paper towel with bleach just to make sure to kill all the spores. I've done this for years to control stem mold, should it occur until harvest time.

  6. I hate caterpillars. When they shit..the little . .. . . ...each one will spread mold. You will have this beautiful dick/cola (some people call them dick's..hahahah)....and this little tiny bud leaf that just doesn't look quite right. It maybe is drooping down, when the others arn't..Or maybe its a brownish color, when the others are green. So you look closer. <nature's way of suspense..lol>..And you slowly pull bud apart, if it doesnt just break off on its own, you see all that nasty moldy/infected goodness that just destroyed (if you are lucky), middle portion of the cola. Or the top. Or sometimes the whole cola if it's really bad. Usually if caught soon ehough, can cut out the bad parts, closly examine the adjacent buds around and if good, cut your losses and move on. Fucking hate those bastards....and they fucking know too. Shit don't happen until it's near/at harvest time. They lie in wait...knowing when trichomes will change..and SHIT SHIT SHIT. Oh yeah. Smart little fuckers.

    <I was angry when I typed this..lol>

  10. I couldn't have wrote that any better:thumbsup:, i new it was fk'n caterpillars & not Bud Rot for the most part. They lay there eggs so the flower's envelop them & when they hatch they start on the inside eating the stems and shiting everywhere. Glad i Harvest Wash now...
