hmm, rootbound flowering plant?

  1. My plant is possibly rootbound, since it's 3 feet tall in a 4 gallon pot and the males that I threw out a month and a half ago had roots stretching all over the sides of the pot.

My plant's buds have stopped getting bigger, and worse, the smell and stickiness of the plant have begun to taper off. When I touch my finger to the buds, my fingers are not as smelly as they were like, a week and a half ago.

Any advice would be sweet, thanks. The plant started flowering November 5th.

  2. My last grow appeared to taper off around the 5th week, but a week later the buds suddenly fattened up and were double in size to the 5th week. Maybe it's a common thing, but I'm too new at this to be sure.

  3. Well... when the plant is in flower, it will grow calyxes which will be quite small depending on the light intensity.
From around the 4th and 5th week of flower it will stop rapidly growing these calyxes, but will still produce them slowly. The last 2 or 3 weeks of flower is when the buds start to ripen up and will start to fatten (which is an indication of ripening). Some strains will grow fat buds like indicas while sativas have a skinny bud that stretches a bit (like foxtails).
Remember, if you are still new at growing, many things can cause growth to hinder.
When you have grown that strain for a number of times you will get your grow much more dialled and know the plant inside out and know what to feed her, what type of grow method can produce more yield etc.
