Hello every one. I wanted to ask how some growers are putting these boards at 18" some as low as 12"?? I have a hlg 260 xl rspec board over 2 girls. Both at 30" and dimmed to about 70%. And yet leaves are tacoed and light brown bleach spots. Going in to wk 6 flower. Room stays about 78 during the day and 72 at night. I have so many fans im worried i will damage them but can't figure this out.
Wind burn can cause similar symptoms. Light burn at 30" seems unlikely. A cheap lux meter will also take the guess work out setting your light levels. Heres the one alot of us use . Same thing is happening to me for the first time ever. I'm using humidity in the 60s. HLG light burn on almost everything at 30-36 inches, and dimmed.
I am glad I'm not the only one. My humidity stays about 50% due to me growing perceptual 3 weeks apart. It don't make sense 270 ish watts WTF! lol
This has to be some other reason than the lights, I highly doubt you are getting light burn from 30" dimmed boards. Could you post pics of your plants?
Here are pics. Main issue under quantum boards the 2 under cobs went in last night but they are same spectrum 3500k. I dimmed the QB 2 days ago and have seen a slight improvement. Dosido day 37 in back gelato in front day 12 flower. Also downloaded a lux meter on my phone doubt it's even close but lower number is where it was dimmed higher is full blast. Also used cheap viparspectra for last year with great results thought these QB would put me over the top...i was wrong just gotta get them dialed!
I have to say your plants look nice and healthy to me, the only issue I see is a slight nutrient burn on the second photo. I can't see any damage from light burn. 33,000 lux (assuming it is somewhat correct, cant trust phone app too much) is also very soft for flowering phase, I got mine closer to 60,000 lux without issues.
Thanks for the compliment dosido is in week 6 i feel she needs the light I just turned it back up and will lower to maybe 24 over the next week. Again thanks for the advice.
The phone app has to be off. To reach 60,000 lux I have to hold the phone at 11 inches from the HLG 260. Also if you have a second will you check the 4th picture the back plant on front right corner has that brown spot and noticed it in a few other locations....thank you.
Your plants look overall healthy, I see those spots but if it's just on a few lower leaves I would keep my eye on it but wouldnt worry too much. Doesnt seem light related in any case.
