I was looking at buying 2 of the HLG 65 Quantum Board LED Grow Lamp Veg & Bloom 4000K and I was wanting to double check before i buy it
I just bought one of these lights to run alongside of Mars 300 in my veg closet and to put it into perspective I don't have a par meter but I do have a lux meter and that little 65 watt light is almost twice as powerful as my Mars 300 which is actually a 130 watt LED light. My veg closet is 2.5 by 5 and it needs to be able to fill a five-by-five flower tent. I have no doubt in the world that three of these lights will veg this closet no problem and that is just amazing at 65w a peice. Accidentally burnt my seedlings just now having the light at 18 in away had to move it to 2 ft and they're stacking nicely. I hope this information is helpful to you in some way as I would like to pay it forward a bit for all the information that you guys have given me over this last year I really appreciated each and every one. Here's a quick shot. plus with the overlapping light. These are currently the most efficient Horticultural light diodes on the market that I'm aware of. They may have just released another diode but essentially this is the top end Tech right now. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
Here’s what I’m set up is gonna consist of.topo grow 600d 36x20x63 tent, fox farm soil and nutrients, hydroponics ph testing kit,two 6 inch inline fans,a clip on fan for inside the tent, 2 hlg 65 quantum boards 4000k and 2 mars hydro 300w..feedback is greatly appreciated thanks
For the size tent you are going to use, I think you have too much lighting... Stick with one of each, or just the HLGs imo. But I'm not an expert yet on this myself, this is just from what I've been reading. Maybe @Tbone Shuffle can offer you a little input Sent from my HTC U11 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
2 x 5 is 10 square feet. You want about 30 watts per square minimally if not 35 for bloom. That's 300-350 watts. The HLG 65 is essentially a 60 watt light as nice as they are. You have two of those for 120 watts with the 130 watt mars 300 in the middle. That's 250 watts total. Not exactly a lot of watts but not bad. If you sectioned off a slightly smaller area with mylar or reflective mater into like a 2x4 or 2 x 3.5' you would be right in range for nice blooms. That's a good setup for possibly up to 12oz's or so. I would get a 3k for your second hlg65 if you can find one. They had some in 3k on amazon. 3k is going to stretch a little more then 4k in veg but it will flower denser buds. An HLG65 will bloom about 2 square feet well. Two of them will cover 4 squares or slightly more and you have the mars to pull up the rear. It's conservative on watts but I bet you could produce some quality stash.
I use 4 of them to veg a 4x4. They can veg 4 square feet but only have enough power to bloom 2 well. I recommend 8 for a good 4x4 bloom setup. You used to be able to get the boards 4 for $120.
I harvested 60 grams of a northern light auto flower and 4 1/2 oz of regular from the 2 mars hydro 300 and 12 cfl day time bulbs
Just saw the post about 2 x mars300's and the 36 x 20 tent. Those with 2 x hlg65's would almost be too much light. I would go with the 2 hlg65's and one mars300. That's about 250 watt range. Great for 2x3.
