There probably wont be a history or literacy section, If you want to post a poem or something that would go in the artists corner, there aren't many threads about history or literacy so there's no need for a section IMO.

I reckon if there were a dedicated section it would get just as much attention as Science and Nature or Great Outdoors does at the moment.
total history buff here. but sadly I be thinking history needs to stay in history related boards. you know, whats next a pre-natal care section ? there are too many subforums for the mods to keep on now as it is IMHO ...
RMJL (and others) have mentioned before that the decision to form a new section comes from the popularity of threads on that topic in other sections. Remember that with new sections comes the potential need for additional moderators & more work for forum staff to maintain GC. In other words, if it's not "popular" enough to be talked about in existing sections, they're probably not going to make a new section for it. So start posting about these topics before lobbying for a new section
Yeah, pretty much this. Like PCjabber said, the need for a new forum arises when there is a lot of discussion on the particular topic. I could count on one hand the amount of history related threads I see around here. The literature section idea has been brought up many times and I think RMJL has said it is something that will either be implemented or at least strongly considered, but unless we start seeing a lot of threads and a lot of interest in history-based discussion, I just can't see a specific forum for history happening. I know it's nice to have a specific forum for the things you would like to discuss, but if we had a specific forum for all of the things that just a few people would like to talk about, can you imagine how many forums and sub-forums we'd have? Good lord! If you want to talk about history, maybe make some threads about the historical things that you want to talk about in what you feel are the most appropriate forums for the subject. See how much interest they generate. Maybe we can go from there as far as seeing whether this is a viable idea or not.
