This is based on an experience/post I made a while back, but have since gone back and done some further investigations into... Ok well, this chant has never really went away in my mind. I think of it/hear it in my head a lot. It seems to have really stuck with me. Then today I realized something about it. Well I'm taking a World Religions class, and we're talking about hinduism and OM/AUM. That particular correspondence between the chant and the hindu concept/sound had occurred to me before, but for one reason or another it occurred to me that dat/tat might have a particular meaning. I went online to confirm, and found that it did, indeed. Tat Tvam Asi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia So, 'dat/tat' is 'that' which everything fundamentally is. The true essence of everything, the ultimate reality. Both of the sounds in the chanting I heard, then, have meaning, and both are concepts found in Hinduism. Now, in that same class, we have talked about the Upanishads a bit, a famous Hindu text. Now after a bit of reading, I have discovered that the Upanishads posit 8 levels or essences of reality, culminating in the 8th, which is AUM. Now in what I quoted, I put 6 'dats,' but I even remember as I posted it, I was not sure whether it was 6 or 7., and decided on 6 for simplicity's sake. So if I can assume 7 dats/tats, the structure of the chant also coincides with the Hindu structure of the Universe. This, to me, is highly interesting. and to quote myself from the same post... in general, to say that it is possible to tap into a sort of 'genetic database,' that could have been the inspiration not only for a vision of Egypt I mentioned in that same post, but this as well, as this one turns out to actually be quite elaborate, and beyond my knowledge at the time.
Extremely intriguing to say the least. I for sure think that there is an external eternal collective memory such as how insects can remember things from their ancestors. It's something I would think dreams are made of. I could've sworn I am revisiting memories of past lives and memories. Another interesting post journey, quite a fan of how your brain works. Is there any chants you used to achieve this state? Or was meditation alone sufficient?
Namaste, Very interesting experience. Experiences come and go. This includes many Samadhi experiences. They are not permanent and thus are not the Self that is ever shining even in this moment. With that said experiences do give us encouragements to continue along the path to Truth or maybe to get on the path so to speak. I am glad you are learning more about the experience and Hindu philosophy. If you don't mind I would like to suggest to you to look into Kashmir Shaivism or other Tantra paths. It even goes deeper in my opinion than the Upanishads. This is not in any way to disrespect the Upanishads, but Tantras were the counter culture teachings that rose up. Tantra was in contrast to Upanishads as many of the Bramanic Hindus were male dominated and suppression of the senses, whereas Tantra accepts all races and does not suppress the senses. Do some research you might like what you read because it goes into detail of YOU ARE THAT.
This is an advancement of your Kundalini. you are not alone and as you mature it will develop. These things happen because of our Pineal Gland let's keep it healthy i suggest everyone look into the effects of Flouride, and what i believe to be an attack on our mind. I have facts if anyone thinks this is irrational i would love to go on.
I have decided to read some Tantric texts, largely due to your posts Very good stuff. The Upanishads are also very interesting.
Thank you And I agree, I think dreams are definitely tied into it. Jung called it the Collective Unconscious, the idea that we all share certain symbolic, psychic, forms, called archetypes. This is saying nothing more beyond physical evolution also corresponds with an evolution of the psyche, consciousness. And with that particular experience, meditation alone was sufficient. I just sat, closed my eyes, stilled my mind, and had that experience. Intense experiences such as that have happend on a few occasions.
