Hey guys first time in the forum nice to meet yall. I'm here for my 2nd ever grow, hindu kush autoflower. Its grown in roots organic original soil. I decided to go with dry amendments this time, specifically GreenGro Biologicals. My first grow i used fox farm and that was a nightmare. I'm currently in week 4 of the grow. I just started to notice something odd on some of the leaves so I came in here seeking some answers. Some of the leaves are showing a shiny like glow to them. Almost looks like theyre wet on the inner parts of the leaf. The light kind of reflects off of these parts. The plants have only been given GreenGro green aminos and pridelands veg so far for nutes. Would love some insight and let me know if youd like any other information.
Okay I will just run water through for this weeks feed. I'm using cloth pots so its hard to get a proper PPM reading of the runoff because the water leaks from all over the pot. As for the shiny parts of he leaves, you think that's due to overfeeding as well ?
you can try lifting them up and setting them in a clean plastic tote to catch the runoff then test that and it looks like too much nitrogen but im no expert listen to sweedright
Is the idea to have water run through the entire pot to get a correct reading. I noticed using the cloth pots(my first and last time using them) that the feed will leak into the bottom tray from all over the pot. So essentially I'm catching runoff that hasn't even really went through more than 2 inches of soil. This is obviously going to skew the readings
Oh well now I'm confused lol. You only test runoff with synthetic nutes? How can you tell when to feed when using organic nutes? When the plant tells you basically? I've been following the recommended time on the bag but I know some companies push their feedings hard. I have to read more into this.
You have to read the plants. Dark green leaves with some clawed tips means a little much N. Just plain ph'd water for a week or until the color lightens up a bit, then resume feeding at a slightly reduced amount.
Idk I used FF trio pack last grow and I found a video on youtube of a guy explaining that salt based fertilizers are synthetic. I have no idea if that's true or not. They claim that their Big Bloom is 100% organic and that their Tiger Bloom is 80% organic so idk. I had so many issues with them when I used them so I decided to go with dry amendments this time. Was either jacks or greengro and I decided to try out greengro.
Synthetic vs. Organic Nutrients for Cannabis - RX Green Technologies. idk if I can post links here but read the "ionic elements" section. gives a better understanding between organic and "synthetic" nutrients
Hey guy update here. So going off of the input I got in here and I actually spoke to the rep from GreenGro i went WAY too hard on nutrients early. I know that now so it will be ph water for the next few weeks. However i just want to 100% rule out any potential bug issues that might be going on. I have some up close shots im not sure whats going on with some of the leaves. Is this from the overfeeding or could this be another problem, potentially bugs?
I have a loupe and I checked for bugs but I'm not seeing anything. I wasnt sure if they would be visible even with the loupe. I have some captain jacks neem oil. Should I preemptively spray or no?
