high tolerance sucks!

  1. idk if this happens to a lot of you but ive gotten to the point where when i smoke i dont get high, unless of course i smoke a grip all in one session. Its kind of sad bcuz i love marijuana an the high that it comes with. i know its not the quality im getting medical from a friend and the high i get lasts like 5 min or so an i feel fine. Also i dont get red eye anymore? does that happen often or do i just smoke too much? if so how long should i take a break for?
     
  2. that happened to me, i stopped for a few weeks and i started to get fucked again on small amounts. You will probably be good just waiting maybe just 1 week though see how that goes

Take a t-break for one week, then only smoke just the amount it takes to get you high during week-days; I did that and my tolerance actually started decreasing and it's still going down, while I'm smoking every day. Save the heavy smoking sessions for when smoking with friends in the weekends. Do all that and tolerance will probably never be a problem unless you wanna get high like the first time you got high - but I'm quite sure that would take months of t-breaking.. :smoke:
     
  4. i feel your pain, my tolerance is out of control. im just about to take a tbreak but i cant seem to pull the trigger.

  6. i've been wanting to take a t-break for a few weeks now for monetary reasons also and i think im gonna finally go through with it.
    today may very well be my first day of my t-break and i wanna keep it going for at least a week maybe like 3 weeks?
    sounds hard, but i think ill be able to do it.
     
  7. I'm in the same boat.. It's been taking a ridiculous amount to get me high. Just did a wake n bake with a .5 j and a grav hit of ATF and I don't feel anywhere near where I should for the quality of bud I'm smoking. So I think I'll be taking a t-break for a little while. I did so back in July for 10 days and it worked wonders for me. I remember taking a huge bong rip of ground up bud and kief and just lying down on my bed and waking up 10 hours later.

  10. That's BS. I mean maybe it still gets YOU high. I smoke dank everyday too. I buy a half an ounce of excellent dank every week and smoke the whole half ounce then buy another when I get paid again, that's my ritual. I don't get high like I used to at all, not even fucking close. I get buzzed at best, not high. I do want to take a break, but I'm laid off right now so I just sit at home and collect unemployment until work picks up. It should be picking up real soon though, so I guess that will be my que for my much needed T-Break.

    On a side note, have you tried edibles? Baking with pot STILL gets me SMACKED out my mind and the high lasts for like 6 hours. Perhaps you should look into it. You may like it.
     
  11. Dizz, I'm in the same boat as you man. I've been buying dank since summer of 2009. It's all I've been smoking, and now it gets a crazy amount just to get me to feel different.

    Yesterday I smoked with a friend from 3 p.m. until like 11 p.m. on and off. He was fucked up. I just kept being annoyed with how much it was taking to get me high. At that point I realized the high wasn't even fun because I was focusing on how un-high I am.

    I've decided to start a t-break today. I'm gonna try 2-3 weeks but I'll be satisfied if I can just make it a week. I've never taken a major t-break before so I'm also afraid.
     
  12. Back home in the states i had a mad tolerance and id stop getting high to a point

    but over here it aint as high, but when i was in amsterdamn smoking a few Gs and sometimes hash to myself i got mega smacked

    i was stuck watching tennis for an hour and a half cuz i hadnt the energy to get up

Regarding tolerance breaks, what I've noticed is that if you stop for 1 maybe 2 weeks the first few highs will be better and you'll get really high but it goes back to what it was fairly quickly. Taking a month or more break is what you need if you really want to lower your tolerance significantly, for me atleast.
     
  15. I have the same problem as you man. Basically I will go through about 5 bowls of weed and then give up because im so pissed nothing is happening. About all that happens is the lights in my room seem a little brighter, but other then that i know im not high. I have tried different smoking methods like if im smoking a pipe all the time (which I do btw) I will take out the bong and try that. This works for a few sessions, but I only stay high for like 45 minutes. Edibles are kind a mild buzz, not really much different. So as you can tell i feel your frustration. T-breaks I take usually last about 5 weeks and when I start back up I can get ripped for about a week and then im fucked again. I've noticed though that the strain you smoke can depend on how high you get, because my uncle gave me a few bowls of his stuff and i got ripped, but my stuff didnt so anything. So it could have had something to do with getting used to a particular strain. Basically my suggestion is to first try a different strain of bud, then change your method of smoking, then if those 2 things dont work take a t-break for a few weeks or so. Technically, it takes 28-35 days to rid your body of thc but a week or 2 breaks do help quite a lot. Hope this helps you out man, i really feel for ya on your situation.
     
  16. See, every time I read a new post I just become more scared.

    Laughing Grass, did you go back to how you were smoking before after the 5-week break? Like if someone goes from smoking dank most of the day, then a 2-3 week break, and then only smoke dank at nights, how long would it take for the tolerance to reach the point it once was? Just to give an example my tolerance right now is too high.

    I'm asking because I'm worried about taking a long break and it not being beneficial.

    I don't normally partake in edibles, as I like the actual smoking act as well.
     
  18. How do you not know if this happens to a lot of people? everybody whines about it. just learn how to not have a high tolerance thats the only real advice you can get other than takin a break which is more of a band-aide than anything

  20. genius right there i went off weed for a week an did nothing but eat something that had cannabutter an i was wayy wrecked different feeling of course but my smoking tolerance is better an i still love PB cookies haha
