High Humidity/Long Dry?

  1. (I posted this in the Harvesting Drying section 3 days ago and haven't got a single response, so trying here.)

Is there much danger of fungus if you dry 10-14 days at high humidity before curing?

I'm drying in a grow closet that's in an open air shed on my terrace (no space indoors). And, yes, using a ventilator fan. I just hung two plants today and it looks like we'll have 1 warm day then 5 days of rain, which is when humidity goes up to about 95% in there. I sometimes fire up a butane heater and close the shed off with curtains, which drops humidity down to 60% +/-.

Think I'd rather it dry too slow than too fast. The humidity fluctuates from low 20s up to 95% out there and the batch I jarred today went through a few days of rain then 35% humidity for 2 days. The buds pretty much jumped right into crunchy dry, but the twigs still only bend. And it seems way too light considering the buds are super dense.

So, if I could draw out the drying time for soft, sticky, rubbery buds, I'd be pretty pleased.

  2. be careful when playing around with drying times and methods , really you should only be experimenting with a small portion off your crop untill you are confident with long drying , you would not want to wake up to a furry mess one morning , especialy if its your full crop , proceed with caution and keep checking every few hours, good luck with it

  3. Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, I don't have enough control over the conditions to really experiment. I'm at the mercy of the weather with no space indoors for regulating temps, etc. That's why I was hoping someone here might be able to tell me if they've been in a similar situation and what the results were.
