High CBD, Low/No THC

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by JamesCThatsMe, Jan 31, 2014.

  1. So l was watching several tv shows that display dispensaries and growers and they were talking about producing bud that has less than 1% THC and high CBD. They said that it would give them the medicinal effects without the high. They went on to say that it would help with anti-cannabis opinions because it wasnt getting people high.

I am all for cannabis and its healing, medicinal benefits, and l am very into high CBD strains for their pain relieving effects. But l also really like the psychoactive properties for helping me feel happier and more at peace. I am unsure about folks trying to breed out THC from the plant. Could this be the future?

How do you feel about it? I am sure l am just being defensive, and l totally understand why some people wouldnt want the THC. But l just dont want to see all the weed grown be grown without THC.

  2. I've seen what you're talking about assuming its those brothers i think they're from Cali, don't quote me on this though. you do realize 99.99% of weed is not grown for low THC. Could this be the future, I believe from looking at marijuana from a medical perspective it will be, but most people don't smoke weed for the CBDs so there is no way it would be.

THC and CBD work with different chemical pathways. Although they may be doing the same "job"- killing pain, as an example, they do it in totally different ways! THC kills pain by activating the CB1 (the high and more) and CB2 (healing ) receptors. Scientists have yet to find the receptors (healing and calming) that CBD activates, but they KNOW it is not CB1 or 2! :confused_2:

Because of this, THC and CBD are NOT interchangeable medically, or for a high! Our "high THC" cannabis may be joined by "high CBD" strains, but it will not be replaced by it!

This. THC will not be bred out exclusively, the way I see it the only thing that will happen is that we will be seeing more CBD low THC strains next to the THC strains, not CBD replacing THC strains.

The section on cannabidiol/ CBD in the (soon-to-be-out) 2014 "Granny Storm Crow's List" is over 30 pages of links!

I think you can safely say that CBD is "rather useful" medically!

  7. I think eventually we will have constituent results per batch, and youll be able to get exactly the levels of any noid you want

  8. It's like those guys using bacteria found on yogurt for penicillin. Or amphetamines in people with ADD

Just because there's other medical uses doesn't mean that yogurt and amphetamines are going away anytime soon for recreational purposes. It's just a different application, not a replacement.

A step in the right direction imo

  9. Fuck ye i been mainlining yogurt all day and nobody gon stop me

  10. For some illnesses the THC is needed, like in patients who are suffering from depression. I can't see them removing THC altogether. You know that it would be untrue, you know that I would be a liar, if I was to say to you, girl we couldn't get much higher

  11. I would love some high CBD oil sometime's I almost feel sick of getting high same old same old a high CBD oil would be awesome
