Hiding (legally) from shady new neighbors

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by moomoo_9821, Sep 2, 2019.

  1. So it’s Sept 1 2019 and I’m a legal grower in VT.
I live in an 3 unit apartment building and have been growing in my backyard.
I have some new neighbors and there’s already been enough red flags to know something is more likely to happen now that they are here and I work nights.
To add insult to injury the New neighbors are friends with the other tenants and they both are on second floor. I
Can I scoot 4x 5 gallon buckets into my garage for the night till dawn? No car in garage and it typically stays a little cooler in there but no one else has access to it.
The electric fence (which will make someone s**t themselves) isn’t going to be enough and I’m certainly getting more and more paranoid as we are steady in flower.
Any ideas or criticism is appreciated.

  2. Are your red flags based on anything other than the fact that they are new neighbours?
You say "your" back yard...is it not a shared area?
My suggestion is, if you're able to - set up some basic security, even a dash cam connected to your pc via cable. Only put it on the area, don't invade privacy (unless there's some laws against this?).

  3. I show all my neighbors my plants willingly If they are near, that way I get a feel for them.

Either way they gonna smell it big time by late september

If you bring the plants in the garage at night, It seems like no harm would come from it. Throw em back out in the morning yeah

  4. Blink cameras. Wireless and they send an announcement when they record a vid.
I set my system up a month ago and I love it. Requires a wifi to connect to and an internet connect to send the vid clips to you.

Blink for Home: Blink XT2 1 Camera Kit
Basic system is $80.00 for a single camera. System can run up to 10 cameras per base unit.

Nice camera I use a Motorola baby monitor no WiFi needed it rotates camera with a push of button and best part of all it has a sound bar on it that increases if anybody gets nearby letting me know and it's got night vision and temp built into it I also use a Samsung smartcam that does connect to WiFi and detects motion also with night vision and records to my Google cloud

  6. How's the picture quality? I have hard wired cameras and bought a few arlo wireless cameras to cover some areas out of range of the hard wired ones. Arlo had great reviews but I was very disappointed in them. Pic quality was horrible and the notification that came to my phone were sporadic. Sometimes I would get notified right away, some times hours after the event and sometimes never. There was also a feature that allowed you to talk but the delay was ridiculous. I have great internet service so that wasn't it. The pic quality was so bad I could hardly make out the features of my own sons face unless he stood perfectly still.

  7. Well, that’s exactly what I did. When they moved in I noticed they were intently watching me feed/prune etc...never saying anything, not even introducing themselves.
Sure it doesn’t sound like much, but we are talking eberytime I’m going out they post up and watch intently.
I did approach one and introduced myself and said, “ so you saw my little slice of heaven out back, I see...u smoke?”
He said,”Yes.” I offered him the same thing the last tenants were offered which was a nice ounce of their choice....all we ask is what we will give: respect the boundaries and we will respect yours.
Unfortunately I am dealing with a situation where between the girl and guy living up there, they are almost always out in the window. It’s drawing crazy amounts of attention bc it is RIDICULOUSLY excessive.

I work 1/4 of a mile down the road from where I live. Approximately 3 co workers of mine are aware of my grow, as we all have the same clones this season.
EVERY ONE OF THEMhas separately came to me (after coming back from break) and said on more than one occasion and said they are ‘face in window’ as they drive by.
Not to mention, they are young. Maybe 21 at best.
I did give them a bud from last years harvest. No response not even a thank u.
I hope it doesn’t sound petty, bc this is an every day every time I’m out there occurrence.
    **Side note**
They pull a chai up to the window to watch.
Never asking to do so out of curiosity and I never asked for security detail.

  8. Thank you for responding and yes, I only have access to the yard and it’s on a stone foundation.
There is a fire escape on the other side of the building that leads down to the yard but is surrounded by trees.
    I am growing on a concrete slab that’s 24x16ft.

  9. It wont hurt anything to put them in your garage at night. Its gonna become a huge PITA VOE

  10. They always staring out the window lol what are they tweakin? Maybe just bird watching

  11. Thats funny...no they aren’t tweakers.
They are Child welfare recipients with teeth and no moral. So, close to that, I suppose...

  12. First things first dude - well - 2 things.

First thing is youve still got 8 weeks to go so the first thing id be doing is moving the plants to a safe spot and digging a nice hole and lining it with a quality compost; covering it up with good soil and then mulching the hell out of it with a foot thick of semi decomposed old leaves.

Trust me your plants will be much happier than that 5 gallon pail.

But either way, set up a damn camera - theyre small, cheap and easily hidden nowadays. Theyll also send an email or short video to your cell phone when movement is detected -

    FUCK RIPPERS.

I’d be leaving one small plant there with a damn camera on it just to have proof of what pieces of shit they are.

  16. LOL nope not trolling PITA pain in the ass, VOE very own experience.
I moved buckets the first year I grew. It became a big PITA. At least for me it did.

  17. Okay but theY won’t die as long as i bring them in and out keep air circulating etc?
My garage is the same temp and humidity as out slide pretty much.
I work nights so I’m happy to do it if it means no one is going to take them.
Just bought 3 spy cams 1300ft barb wire etc
    Thank u

Back when I used to do some shady ass shit a long long time ago barb wire never stopped me. Bolt cutters or an angle grinder. Now you just lost more $$ barb wire just reassured there would probably be surveillance so a mask and covered skin would do the trick. Now you don't have video evidence. Got to think like a criminal bro
