HID without a capacitor

  1. Hi guys,

I'm wondering if any of you are running your HID system without having a capacitor in its circuit. The ballasts/ignitors that I'm using are not having any capacitor on their circuit schema(ballast, ignitor, bulb only) and they're working without an issue(I guess) but recently a friend of mine told me that by adding a capacitor to his 1kw setup, he got more light(and heat of course) and meanwhile, I remember when I was buying these stuff(even from different shops) the sellers didn't say it's needed and even when I asked one of them "You sure I don't need a capacitor?" he replied "yeah, just plug the cables and you'll be fine."

What do you think about it?

p.s. I'm running a 400w MH + a 400w HPS. Ballasts and bulbs are different but the ignitors are identical.

    Thanks in advance
