Hey Non-Americans, I want YOUR opinion

Discussion in 'General' started by sk8njam, Mar 14, 2012.

  1. Hi :smoke:

    Lets get to the point...

    Tell me how you view America from an outside perspective...I want to see how citizens of other countries feel about the USA

    Lets hear your opinions on :
    * The overall population
    * Foreign involvement
    * Materialism
    * Domestic and Foreign Policies
    * etc....

    Personally I've got mixed feelings about this country, but lets leave the discussion to YOU :bongin:

  2. We don't like you...

  3. OP you're probably gonna get alot of this. As an American, you should probably just tell yourself the world is all a bunch of haters, and that they're just gon hate.

  4. You guys are alright. I don't stereotype or generalise, so I won't comment on the overall population. Generally speaking, America is the best man for the job in leading the world (especially since the only alternatives are China or Russia, or the Arab world)- great ideals and values underpin the society. It's the practice of these ideals that's flawed, what with all the Cold War meddling, corruption, oil wars and the materalism that you mentioned. It's ridiculously idealistic to think that any world leader would be perfect though- America's far from perfect, but still the best man for the job.

    I'll always be grateful for America's contribution to the arts, though. Most of my favourite music, film and television is American, granted that America produces the most works of these art forms, they're still by far the best.

  5. I like american people face to face, half the reason I stayed around in GC is because I am interesting in the American Culture, I have been over there a few times, spent a month in cali when I was younger, Awsome place!!...

    All cool, but then there is the political American and FFS give it up. Bunch of whiney, God fearing, ass kissing patriots!... A misplaced sense of pride and history, all the talk of the constitution, bill of rights, first ammendment... [IMG]

    Those tickertape rallys were parents take their kids along and cheer and cry whilst some greasy polotician talks uber cheese, waving flags!... WHAT THE FUCK!!

    Oh and stoners for Ron Paul... biggest hypocrisy on the city... bugs the shitout of me..

  6. Your not our friend. your like the socially awkward cosine that you only see on Christmas. :p

    Seriously though your foreign policy is mad and whoever supports it, your the world police and we do not like it.

    American citizens are fine, just your governments and supporters.

  7. :confused_2:

    I have American friends, I like America culturally be that literature, music, tv, films etc , I enjoy studying aspects of American history. I use Americanisms in my speech.

    As a country, i've seen a few parts of it, and they were generally good places to be, crime occurs everywhere in the world, so that's a pretty incidental point.

    Sure, there are things I disagree with, but that's the same for anywhere. If that means I'd be classed as pro-American so be it...

    Please tell me how supporting RP makes me a hypocrite?

  9. If you visit USA go to Wisconsin, cheese lol

  10. Y'all don't have to like America, bc in the end were still America being original and haters gunna hate

  11. Sub'd to find out how many people live outside of the states

  12. Original :confused: how is America original.

    English went to America - killed a load of natives - made a bigger England

    :D:p

  13. The 4th Reich isnt original.

  14. I'm afraid I think that most of the americans are hypocrites (most of the ones in GC aren't, though). You can't see things in in another person's perspective and most of you don't even know where my country is, so I think most of the americans are ignorants.

    But don't worry! I think most of you here in GC are great guys ;)

    63 percent of Americans aged 18 to 24 failed to correctly locate the country on a map of the Middle East. Seventy percent could not find Iran or Israel.

    Nine in ten couldn't find Afghanistan on a map of Asia.

    And 54 percent were unaware that Sudan is a country in Africa.

    Remember the December 2004 tsunami and the widespread images of devastation in Indonesia?

    Three-quarters of respondents failed to find that country on a map. And three-quarters were unaware that a majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim, making it the largest Muslim country in the world.

    "Young Americans just don't seem to have much interest in the world outside of the U.S.," said David Rutherford, a specialist in geography education at the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C. (National Geographic News is part of the National Geographic Society.)

    i don't think all Americans are ignorant though. :p that's called a generalization.
