Hey guys LST.

  1. Is it possible to make a plant fully grown only be around a foot tall by making it spiral shape LST?

  2. Also what is the earliest u can start to LST

  3. I was wondering the same thing by wrapping it around a wire tube with a light inside, then just keep wrapping as the branches grow throughout the grow cycle. I don't see why not as long as there are no really tight bends....

  4. yes...

you just have to use long anchors in the soil or heavy objects. you can run a twine between or placed under the branch...hoop or lay over twine and bend down then tie off when happy on height above soil..the younger the growth the easier it is to train, so check it multiple times a week, if not daily, until happy.

I do it when using short spaces with overhead lights, else I just do so to pull the branches outward to maximize light access (using vertical 4" t5 units).

  5. Yes but how old do they need to be? I am up to the third node want to start early as possible for spiral tree

You don't want them to be too young and get pulled out of the soil or too old that the stem breaks when you try to bend it down.  My rule of thumb is usually around 3 weeks to a month depending on the size of the plant and the thickness of the stems.

I found this one on the interwebs and I think it's the same size you were asking about.  I've done a lot of LST with my grows and they turn out pretty nice.   :)

  7. When I LST, my plants are usually 3/4 weeks old or have at least 3 nodes.  I anchor the stem at the bottom and tie off to the side of the pot. Then I set my first tie in the opposite direction. The anchor will prevent the plant from being pulled out.  Similar to this: [IMG]
