Hermied in last week. Chop or leave?

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Numbness2005, Mar 19, 2012.

  1. Hey guys I tried finding the answer for my self but have been reading for hours now and can't find what I am looking for.

I am 9 weeks into flower and was just waiting for trichs to amber up abit before doing 48hours dark before chopping.

But she has started producing seeds...my question is will thc still mature during early seed production? Or does it just degrade as the seeds are produced....

Nothing seems to delve into thc side of things but
Ore on bud production. I understand my buds probably wont get any fuller now really but will the thc on these buds still mature if left another week or so... I want a nice body stone out of her if poss...

Any advice would be much appreciated....

    Thanks guys. Happy toking...

Seed formation doesn't really affect the potency of the trichomes. With seeds growing, much more of the bud weight will be seed instead of bud, resulting in significantly diminished smokable yields. More of the plants' resources going to seed production causes ultimately smaller plants, also lowering yield. But what there is left to smoke after removing the seeds shouldn't be much worse than it would have been without the seeds. As a matter of fact, the seed "casings"; the trichome-covered plant material surrounding each seed; can actually be quite good with a high ratio of crystal to other plant material.

Well thank you very much, that sounds like a very well educated reply. Thankfully from what I can see there aren't very many seeds to be seen, I'm sure I'll probably stumble upon the odd few here and there when I crack open a bud once they have dried.

She has come down this morning I have manicured and hung to dry I'm guessing that once dry it'll probably amount to an 1 1/2 oz maybe 2 if the bud gods are on my side. Sneak a small bud away to quick dry and test ;)

Thanks again for your words of wisdom, it's much appreciated.
