Hermie??

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Bunnyface, Jul 4, 2023.

  1. Hi all.

Im new around here, and i have a question regarding this plant. Hope this is the correct sub forum.

As the title would suggest, is the plant going hermie? sorry for picture quality, and heres the info.

never grown OG kush before and most the tops look like this. these are 4 different sites. the plant is week 4 into flower, soil. we had a hot spell 2 weeks ago and that could be what is making her grow bananas. qthe seeds are also quite old, and of the 3 popped this one was the only one to shed her shell and grow. the others just withered.
my eyes arnt what they used to be, but under the LED they look more yellow than when she is out the grow space. it could just be more buds budding but thought some one on here would maybe have a better idea.

I only have 3 growing at the moe, and the other two are a different strain so look nothing like this. dont mind chopping here down and adding here to the freezer bag for when i make some oil. 20230704_205622.jpg 20230704_205052.jpg 20230704_204828.jpg 20230704_204902.jpg 20230704_204921.jpg 20230704_204828.jpg
any advice would be appreciated, and if you require more info please just ask away.

    all the best.

  3. thanks for the advice Vee.

and i thought it may of self pollinated, but the other two next to her are still kicking out pistils and none have browned yet.

i may just play it safe and get rid of her. she wont go to waste so it's not really a lose as such.

    thanks again. all the best.

  4. I must be missing something as I see no signs of a male. Why do you believe it's a hermaphrodite?

  5. Ah ok, well my logic is the fact that the parts I think are developing pollen sack or bananas are such a contrasting yellow colour. The last picture is probably the best example. They stand out so much that I was looking for clarification.
Do you believe they are just bud/stipule/bract?
    Thank you, All the best.

  7. I find the calyx on some strains just develops that way. Unless you clearly see nanners in the buds or pollen sacks forming at the nodes don't worry about it.

ok. that puts me at ease quite a bit. I will keep an eye on her and see. Havn't grown OG Kush before and thats what made me worry.

  9. I'm not sure if it's a trait all Kush strains share. But, I've grown a Critical kush now three times from seed and each time they show the same formation of the calyx.

  10. Ah, well it very well could be then, as they do look like small dense clayx, it was just that contrasting colour is very bright and almost yellow.
I have left her be for now and am checking twice a day to see, I will try get a picture when I next check as they have got a bit bigger. On one they seen to have tiny little pistils, which puts me at ease. We shall see.

    Thanks again for your advice.
