Hey! This is my first post, though I've done A LOT of reading around the forum.. This place is an amazing source of info! Everyone seems so helpful too! So hopefully someone will have an answer for me.... I've read quite a few "hermie guides" like how to identify and all that good stuff, but everyone just says to trash them or make them into hash... Anyways, I'm currently on my first grow (I was thinking of making a grow journal, but I'd found this forum AFTER I'd started, so I think I'm going to start a journal on my next one.. Sorry for the digression!) and I ended up with 2 (of 5) being female.. Or so I thought. One ended up being female, and looooong after I'd determined both were female, one started growing "bananas." (Was it stress? I don't know..) By the way, I'm growing in an Aerogarden.. One of my friends gave it to me, so I figured why not? Soooo, at the first sign of the "bananas" I turned off my fan (as to not spread any potential pollen) and fully inspected my plants. I found 2 under-developed "banana" bunches and cut them off! I was extra careful and held a small tray underneath where I was cutting so anything that fell wouldn't land on any lower buds. I've found 2 more since then and did the same thing to remove them. So far, I've kept the fan off, and the door-thing open and the temp has remained okay.. SO I guess my main question is... If I keep up on this "banana" situation I seem to have, will my buds turn out okay? I REALLY hope so because the hermie plant's buds are about double the size (height and width) as the female... Thanks a ton in advance! (And sorry if this is in any way a re-post... I honestly tried searching and couldn't find anything... Could be using the wrong key words though... Eh.)
If your plants have hermied you can try a spray you get at the grow store or off line called "reverse". I have heard that it works very well.
Do you know a good company for this "reverse" stuff? There's no hydro shops anywhere near me.. I think I'd have to drive like 3 or 4 hours to get to one.. So I'd have to go the online route. Awesome! That's what I've been doing. Well, actually, I've been checking it like 2 or three times a day.. Morning, mid-day, and sometimes night. Probably sounds like a lot, but I REALLY don't want my babies getting pollinated! Thanks a ton for the help ya'll!!
