Hermaphrodite question

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by gremlin_ack, Nov 23, 2006.

  1. First time this happened to me. Transplanted my girls two weeks into flowering and eventually forced a hermaphrodite, but I missed it. Now I got a crop of seeds. Questions: Are these seeds only going to yield more hermaphrodites? Can I reveg. my females and the next go around will be fine or does pollination by a hermaphrodite affect the females? Thanks for the help.

  2. well if you grow from the hermi seeds, your looking at some female and/or some hermi.

  3. Depends on what kind of hermie. If you have male and female flowers pretty much all over then those seeds are trash -- they will be mixed male and female seeds, all of which will have a high likelihood of carrying defects.

If, however, you have basically an all-female plant exect for 1-2 budsites flipped to male, then there is a good chance your plant produced feminized pollen and you will have all female seeds.

What's done is done, so I say save the seeds, when you are ready to grow again germ out 10 or more, and if they are all female the odds are that the pollen was feminized and your seeds are too. If you get some mix of males then you have that answer too.

  4. thanks. can i also assume then that the fertilized females i now have can be re-veged and produce normally?

  5. look into the cannabible to see how to check a real all female plant from a hermi
