Here I am again with the mold paranoia, rightly so ?

hey all, sorry for posting yet another question about mold but i am really paranoid about this stuff and would like to learn to spot bad signs myself

so without further ado if you see these pictures, what do you think? it's a mix of stem, sugar leaves, flower, bud, pictures form the same harvest (dried for 7 days, but not cured), AK47 home grown outdoor

does this look normal to people who've grown their own harvests? or should I be worried and trash the goods?

thanks for helping a fellow amateur grower out !

  2. Over the last 50 years I've smoked or eaten some very questionable Cannabis. It mostly depended on how it was smuggled into California. Some stunk of gasoline or diesel. Some was downright moldy. I mean to where the open bag made it very clear to your nose this was not just molded but really nasty. Smoked it all. Still alive and kicking.

Your photos are to blurry to tell what I'm looking at. If in serious doubt make edibles and just eat it.
I grow outside only and all the cores of my buds will have some minor discoloration in their centers.

  3. To me it looks like mold in some pics because it has strands and looks like mold starting to form it's structure so it can release more spores. They could also be non-glandular trichomes which do not have heads. If you are going to make anything edible out of it, I HIGHLY recommend you make RSO out of it since the process of making it would kill off any mold/pathogens that could be in the flower.

  4. Thanks Johnny ! What I'm wondering is how I can differentiate between mold vs non-glandular trichomes. until I can do that I will always be paranoid about mold from now on I suppose even when I buy from dispenseries. is there way to do that?

  5. i salute you sir! It's just not the kind of character I have I'm afraid, i'd really love to be able to learn to detect or identify mold wherever i get my stuff from :)

by the way: your garden looks fantastic !

  6. I remember reading an article in college about making dirt weed better and it was by making your weed mold. I guess there’s a little kick with the mold. I obviously never tried it but got moldy Mexican brick weed before and it was just fine. Nobody got sick or anything.

  7. I read an article in the mid 1970s that said you could double the potency of crappy weed by making it mold. It makes no sense whatsoever.
I don't see mold in those pictures.

  8. do you have experience with seeing mold on bud and could you show a picture that has mold on it in a zoomed in fashion, i mean not like the pictures you find online that have thick webs on them like when you leave rotten fruit out in the sun for a week or two

there's a lot of articles we can read but only our own mind to make up :)

  9. Sure I've seen mold on bud but I don't have any pictures and even if I did it wouldn't help you because mold doesn't always look the same. I think what you're seeing are cystoliths, crystal looking hairs that grow on cannabis and some other plants. They can grow in bunches inside buds and look similar to mold.
