1. Tokin with a buddy a while back. Had some string and lit his bud with it. Called it hemp wick.
Anybody got pros/cons? Thinkin about buying some

  2. Go for it, it's super cheap and much healthier for you because there is no butane involved.

  3. Saves you lighters and no butane. Control size of flame once you get the hang of it, don't know any cons...

  4. (I'm high)
Isn't butane almost fully combusted in the flame? Is there really any harm to a regular bic ligher? I think the people who say bic lighters are harmful are idiots

  5. In my experience it's a novelty that wears off once the honeymoon period is over.

  6. Pro- It's much healthier than butane.

  7. hemp wick is best check out humble hemp wick i think they have a free sample but its super cheep and removes butane taste

been using/making beeline/hempwick for few years now, unless im on the go, which becomes a hassle to use in the car and such, illl use beeline at home about 99% of the time.

pros - clean tasting, nothing but the herb. since you can control flame size, cornering the bowl is a breeze. ive found that the resin left behind in bowls, slides and even my downstems is much less stickier and easier to remove. i havent talked to any others that have noticed this so take it as you may.

cons - depending on the brand, some have a terrible taste and burn horribly. some hemp wicks smell bad after you blow them out. it can catch on fire quickly and fairly easy (like it happened to me and almost burned down my dressser) but most will remember to put it out.

  9. More precise than a bic if you are trying to corner your bowl.

  10. Hemp Wick is the way to go

  11. 100% recommend. One of the best tools in a toker's inventory. Much healthier for you than regular-old Bics (butane-lighters) Tastes better and is easier on your throat and lungs, especially when rippin' batch poppers.

  12. gonna try some, but a lighter has never let me down

  13. Tried some and here is my 2 cents

Pros - Healthier, cleaner taste (brand dependent) can be precise with where you apply flame (corner hit bowls easy)

Cons - Smells when you put it out, not as convenient as just grabbing a bic, more ash

I don't use it anymore, it was too much of a hassle for this lazy stoner. I agree with pokemot247, it's a novelty that wears off. I'll just do a solar hit if I'm worried about a little bit of butane from a bic lighter.

  14. I didnt like.

You gotta unwind, flic the bic, toke, put the flame on wick out.

  17. Humboldt hemp wick will send you 3-4 feet as a sample for $0.75, and they take PayPal... super simple. Tastes great and it's easy to control the flame.

Honestly, even though it's a "novelty," I do it for the taste. Light a candle while you're smoking and it's super easy to just go from wick to bowl.

  18. Pro: more controlled flame
Con: inconvenient to use (gotta put piece down every hit), you can taste the hemp wick smoke in every hit, hemp wick smells not good after use, easy for smoke from the wick to get in your nose/eyes, its an extra thing to carry around.

Butane is burned when it comes out of a lighter, so "no butane inhaled" would neutral.
