Hemp wick ''safer'' than lighters?

    So I recently bought myself a hemp wick for a more natural alternative to using ''harmful'' butane lighters (apparently). Are butane lighters really all that bad? Are you really getting trace amounts of butane upon combustion? Clarify me on this. Lol.

    I really don't know, but they (wicks) do let you have a little more control when lighting your bowl (constant flame) and keeps you from turning the top of your lighter into a hot plate. I've actually gotten quite worried that my bic is going to explode in my hand if it takes too long to get a good cherry, shit gets hot.

    you most likely are ingesting a little bit of uncombusted butane, but i would not worry about that too much. it's just a selling point for hemp wick. i use hemp wick because it is easier to corner bowls and it burns at a much lower temperature than a bic lighter, so you're zapping less THC

    I've just recently started using hemp wick and I love how you have good control of the flame and you don't taste any butane. I would just say it tastes better.

    So I'm hearing that a few of you's prefer that wick over the lighter, sweet.. I kind of like it myself so far.

    Yeah for herb I would use hemp wick, for the reason because i don't enjoy my bud tasting like butane every so often.

    I dont know about the safety, I just found that smoking is a better experience for me when I use hemp wick. I have used it for over 5 years now and I cringe when I have to use a lighter on a rare occasion when I dont have any available. There is a lot of poorly made China wicks on the market now so I would recommend an American made hemp wick with good quality beeswax.
