Hemp Oil and Spider Bites

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by poi_boi, Mar 5, 2010.

  1. I recently got two nasty spider bites on my hands that are swelling up pretty good. They itch, and hurt really badly. Will hemp/hash oil rubbed directly on the bites relieve any pain for me? I have tried benadryl and its helped a little but im achieving nothing on pain relief.

what have you used hemp oil for and can it potentially help me in this situation?

  2. Well what kind of spider was it? You might have to go to the doctor before your hand rots off. JK but if it gets infected and grotesque than just go to the doctor.

Don't know about the original question though...

  3. i've never heard of that, but i bet if you smoked it it could do some good.

  4. Even if it didn't make the bite any better, being a little high might just make you care less about it. It's pretty much good for whatever ails you.

  5. I strongly doubt it. Antivenin is produced when a body learns a tolerance for a poison and produces anti bodies to soak it up, essentially. Go to the doctor of it looks gross, if it isn't bigger than a giant pimple or a mosquito bite, deal with it.

Your body alone will produce Antivenin to combat the toxin, when you go to the hospital they simply add antivenin from another animal (horses, pigs, etc) to you to 'soak up' the toxin more quickly. Really depends on how bad it is. Did you get a look at the spideys that bit ya?

  6. I woke up with the bites yesterday.

You don't think hemp oil will at least relieve me of pain?

  7. I've used some on mosquito bites before, and a lot of the dispensaries in CA sell some kind of topical application. I have chap stick, rub-a-dub, and many tinctures. I'd give it a try, the only other thing I've ever used honey oil on was some dreads hahaha :smoking:

  8. Yes it will since it will get absorbed through your skin. There aren't many studies done on hemp oil due to legalities.

  9. I would suggest mixing a small amount of olive oil with some hemp oil for this application.

I've seen a couple of cases of benefit to spider bites with topical applications of cannabinoids.

Stubborn open sores that had been there for years that go away after about two weeks of application.

  10. If it's a bite from a poisonous spider, get to the doctor. If it's just itchy, then definitely try a topical. I make my own lotion, and it works very well for keratosis pilaris. (dry, itchy skin with keratin 'pimples' that make you look like a plucked chicken)

  11. Hemp oil will help in the healing of the wound and keep it from scarring. But if the bite is infected or inflamed and reddish i would put an antiseptic on it before trying the hemp oil.... If your looking for a natural alternative try tea tree oil... this stuff really helps with insect bits and small infections on of the skin.... Hemp oil in known for helping with certain skin ailments and the healing of scars and burns so it will help after the wound is no longer infected.

topical pain relief is probably no going to occur from a basic hemp oil solution unless highly concentrated...

  12. hey man don't joke about that
a friend of mine got bit by a brown recluse on his thigh, and he didnt know it was a recluse. He ended up losing a fucking chunk of his leg.
but naaaah...hemp oil would maybe help

  14. Brown recluses are nasty shit. A buddy of mine in highschool got bit on the back (OW!) and lost the use of his legs for about 4 months.
When I was about 14 I got bit once by a black widow on the shoulder(nor cal, in the garage, anyone who lives there will understand). It hurt like a bitch but I saw the spider (and killed it, ahhh), and got to the hospital + antivenin within half hour.

OP, how are the bites doin?

  15. I used it for that, I got a brown recluse bite last weekend and every time I put CBD oil on it the crater gets smaller and it helps the pain.
