About three days ago I planted 4 germinated seeds. This is my first time growing and my set up consists of bright light CFLS (i know metal halide is recommended but until my next grow this is all i can afford for now), a fan, etc, all that i really need. my plants are doing well and sprouted perfectly-- i planted them in those red party cups for now until i do a transplant-- what's concerning me is that on two of the plants a white root like object is above soil as if it grew up, and then down. i just went to give my plants a little bit of water and i saw the white sprout thing and it shook the actual sprout. I recovered the little white sprout with dirt again. Is it bad that this little white root/sprout has emerged, almost as if its hooking the soil. What should i do? Thanks
A picture would be handy but after only 3 days that sounds sorta bad. I would say cover it with 1/4" of soil/medium, lightly water and hope for the best. Removing it to redirect the taproot downward is probably the best option but at this point has a high chance of killing it, so your call.. Covering it with a little bit of extra medium it will likely recover, plants tend to survive even under harsh conditions like being upside down but it could be stunted or grow strangely in the end.
