Whats the cheapest lighting system I can find. Since winters coming around im looking for some type of lighting system to tranfer my plants inside and grow. But unfortunatly I dont know what type of system I need. They all seem expensive. Id need something that would get rid of odors and ect. but still gets the job done with growing. I would prolly want the cheapest thing there is because I dont have much money. Any suggestions on what type I should get and a link or something. Thanks

Hey if you think you can, go for it. My shortyz got major issues with growing weed so I've got three plants in a huge hollowed out speaker. It takes alot of work to make your own stealth grow though. Just do a legit job on it, and the cheapest bulbs you'll find are floros. Find out what you're growing in first, that way you won't buy a light that won't fit.
just buy a hps from insidesun.com and grow 3 or 4 plants in a closet. Use a fan for ventilation and air flow.
Would a fan work good enough for it not to linger throughout the house. Also, wouldnt the light run up the electric bill>?
If you think for a moment you won't get caught with a fan,hps, and a buncha MJ plants in your closet, you're dilusional. Those lights get bright, those buds get stanky, and anyone wandering around your room will will notice something coming from your closet. Do nottt make this mistakeeeee man.
You can easily figure out how much it's going to run up your electrical bill with this forumula: Total Number of Watts x Number of Hours they are on per day x cost per kilowatt, then divide the number you get from that multiplication by 1000. It costs me something like $0.25/day for the extra lights I have, but I only have a couple hundred watts. Plus, you have to add taxes that the light company charges you.
2 things: You can build that so fucking easily for so much cheaper, it's a crime to charge that much. Granted, if I were to make one I wouldn't use HPS (a couple of 28 watt flouros would be cooler and have more watts, although I don't know about lumen output) and I couldn't include all the "extras" that are on that site like the guage, but I could do it for maybe $150 tops. That said, a case is about $100 max, bulbs are cheap, so are computer fans, etc etc. Second thing: You can't grow a marijuana plant to maturity in that case no matter what they say. That thing isn't even two feet tall, and you have to include the space for your soil and the fact that if the plant gets too close to the bulb, it burns. Maybe you could grow lowryder in there, but you'd get a quarter ounce every 2 months (two plants, statistically one turns out male, and lowryder produces 1/4-oz bud per plant on average). Wooptie fucking do, way to waste $700. HA. It says you can grow a lb of "plant matter" per year. Now I know that is a scam. Maybe a pound of total plant matter including roots, stems, and fan leaves before you dry it, but I'd guess you'd actually only get, if you only grew clones, maybe 3-6 oz per year (harvesting a total of a half ounce (remember, these are tiny plants that would fit in there) every two months, and that's if you have access to clones. From seed it's much longer, and I assume anyone using that system doesn't have clones laying around because they need to be "stealthy" Marijuana is a big plant and it needs it's space. You'll ask your friends to kick you in the nuts if you buy that. $700 can go a long way toward a real decent mj garden.
Yea i wouldve never bought that thing, I was jsut using it to show what I want and or need. Heres my new Idea...I went around my house to look for some type of stealth box I could use. I found a speaker thats completely blown. Heres some pictures.... Whatd you think..? I think its a great idea, I just need to learn the aspects of growing. The pictures are fuckin horrible, but you get the idea..
Heres my Idea...... I was thinking because it is so tall, the light may not be very bright If I hung a light at the top of the speaker, so I thought it would be smart to make two stations. The top would be a germination station(because it is small), and the bottom would be a growing station. The only problem is towards the middle of the box is the speaker, and it sticks out a good amount. Besides that I could see this working out.
get rid of the speakers, make a cover out of 1/4 inch plywood. put the cloning part in your closet, no smell when they are that young, plus you will have more space in your little box. either get a small HPS light 175w or something like that. you have to think about the heat generated by the light and the ballast if they are in the same enclosure. you could probably use one of the small speaker holes as a vent hole. you might want to look into a small one plant hydro system, should help you increase your yield and lessen the cycle time. I am running an air cooled 600w hps, I have a swamp cooler in the room, an exhaust fan, and 2 osciliting fans that run all the time. costs about 50 a month when vegging, 35-40 a month when flowering.
