I'm using a DWC bucket and a 450w viparspectrum led light. I've been using half of what the nutes recommend. I just raised the light up, hoping that helps. I also notice some of the lower leaves are yellow. Here's a pic.
Your problem could be any number of things - my first inclination is the that the pH is off. What is the pH of your reservoir and what is the temperature of the solution? What pH do you mix your nutes? What is the ppm? The light color tells me they may be hungry as well - which could also be the reason for the deficiency. I assume you have an airstone? It's not from the light.
Yes, I use an airstone. I ph my nutes around 5.5-6.0, I don't have a ppm meter. I keep the reservoir temp around 68-75. I'm not sure what the ph of the reservoir is at this moment, but I'll check it when I get home. What should the reservoir ph be at? I also have a 2nd plant in soil that has dry crunchy leaves, but doesn't have the brown or yellow spots. I had the light pretty close to the plants. I don't have a chiller, I usually rotate frozen 1 liter water bottles, I was out of town for a few days and wasn't able to rotate the frozen water bottles. Maybe that's the reason for the brown spots?
That could be - if the rez wasn't maintained for a few days then a lot of things probably went out of whack, not just the temperature. What do the roots look like, are they healthy? Did the symptoms happen when you got back from 3 days off?
Yea, it was healthy before I left. 90% of the roots look healthy and white. There are a few that are brown. I put some hydroguard in before I left. I'm going to clean the Rez out this evening.
