We have been growing indoors for about two years now and keep experiencing what looks like heat stress. But every when they are being fed the same thing, same environment... it happens randomly. Now we are in week 3 flowering and we have buds but no hairs! I'm freaking! Temps are 71-78,humidity is around 78-81%. We are not feeding full bites, using 1000 w on a light track. They were so beautiful and green and healthy until this last week and a half. We are in soil, running General Hydro nutrients. I am trying to attach photos but it's throwing an error. I will keep trying. Plewse ask away and provide any help you can. We will begin Thrive Alive red in two days.
Your humidity is to high. What's your medium? Whats your ph? What's your ppm/ec? How often are you feeding? Are you giving plain ph'd water at all? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Like mentioned you need a Dehumidifier when your lights go out. I would transplant to a bigger pot they maybe root bound IMO. What do you mean Buds but no hairs? More information Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I don't think it's mites. I think there root bound and have nute lock out. Your feeding them back to back they should get water in between feedings. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Root bound maybe. Def too much nutes. Even in pro mix those babies don't need more then 300-400 ppm, especially if you're doing feed, feed, water. When doing feed, water, feed you can use higher ppm bc you are "flushing" out the salts more often. In flower pushing 1000 ppm in weeks 3-5 is good but once again you have to make sure you're giving enough plain ph'd water. What's your ph? If not I'm mistaken the ph for pro mix is the same as soil 6.0-7.0 as long as it is peat moss based.
back to back feeding isn't good and could give you lock out. I'm using FF trio with Roots organic soil. when I feed it's only at 1/4 to 1/2 strength sometimes more depending how she looks. I give plain tap water back to back all the time. Those plants at least the one is to big for a solo cup just look how thin the stems are! just an option. Repot them to bigger pot. The second picture that plant looks fine. No brown tips don't look over feed. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Plants are in 20 gallon pots. Def don't need repotted . Never used anything bigger indoors. Buds no hairs-can you see the picture? It's the second pic. No white hairs
We have always fed like that. How would something all of a sudden change? They are taken from a mother plant that has always been fed that way as well. Flowered successfully same feeding schedule. 800-900 ppm is using half nute strength if not less. Not trying to knock anyone's ideas, just know how we have always done it and just starting to get the problem. As far as the cupped clone-these things came out of the closet like this! Some plants beautiful other like that. Same nutes, same environment, same strain... soooooo ♀️
I understand what your saying if that's the case then the plants in the solo cups are big to be in a little cup just IMO! The stems are really thin. The second picture they look fine. So how long do you use solo cups before you transplant into a bigger pots? You have plenty of holes in your solo cups and you're getting good drainage correct? Look under the cups with the bigger plants in it. Can you see roots coming through any of that drainage holes? that's why people use solo cups cause they build a faster root system than if you start them in big pots. But once they get bigger then the solo cup itself people repot to a bigger pot. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I didn't know they were in 20 gallon pots you have pictures of solo cups, with big plants in them. That's what I was looking at. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
If your feeding hasn't changed. The only answer is your humidity is too high. There is a sliding scale or chart that you can look at that will give you the "sweet spot" for temp and humidity. The basic of it is the higher temp you run the higher humidity. If you're using a hps you need to be under 55% humidity when it's running in your 71-78 temp range R-4808N
Buds do look kinda funny though I can't really see them well in that light even zoomed in regular lighting or a flash would be better... idk if I'd blame that on humidity though... my last grow I flowered in 60-90% humidity just fine... had a lot of airflow as well though. Hell this grow humidity has been hovering at 60-75% depending if I watered that day or not. Robs New Journal RQS SQ#1 Clones
You can see the mites but you have to use a 100 X to see them Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Op you have any resent pictures? the young lady maybe right about mites. Look underneath the leaves or if you have a scope see if you see any mites in the soil. It's weird the other plant to the right looks fine. the stems are very thin IMO. Good Luck Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Idk what resent pictures have to do with anything but OP do you have any recent pics? Robs New Journal RQS SQ#1 Clones
Heat stress dude your using 1000watts man them things are getting fried. And yes high humidity doesnt help. Maybe by a dimmable balast and start them at only 600 watts and work your way up. But yeah looks like heat stress dude
