Help with Scale?

Discussion in 'General' started by Bmoric, Sep 20, 2009.

  1. My brand new scale (that I just got in the mail from amazon) isn't weighing stuff. Idk if I'm just being stupid or if I need to calibrate or what ever. Its a blade scale 600 x 0.1

    What it came with:

    Attempt to weigh stuff:

Can anyone help identify a problem? tried running on AAA batteries that came with it and other duracell ones

    *sorry for cell pictures

  2. no help anyone :(

  3. Lol dude relax you gotta wait more than 10 mins for a response sometimes. Well obviously the batteries work since the screen comes on, it should already be calibrated, what did the user manual thing say?

  4. Punch, kick, throw. Repeat as necessary.

  5. 10 mins!?

so I guess it should work. I'll try leaving it on there for awhile this time...
Kinda disappointing... waited 2 weeks for the 3 day shipping....

  6. he's tlking about thread replies hahahah.

wouldnt you say not weighing anything is not weighing properly...........................

  7. haha ok. lol I'm just kinda baked and unhappy. Makes me impatient lol

EDIT: does anyone know what "TARE" weighing is? it has an option to do that

  8. It adds together the different items you weigh. Weigh something, while it is on the scale press tare, then weigh something else, press tare twice for your total...but it's different on different scales.

  9. oh thats kind of helpful. if it DID weigh stuff... damn.

  10. i thought tare was if put an object on the scale, and then pressed the button it set it to zero..

    i might be mistaken.

    CALIBRATE THAT SHIT

  11. ok it didnt come with a calibration weight and it said that the calibration weight for this particular scale is 500g. You think theres any household items that are exactly 500 g's

  12. half a liter of water

  13. k.... I'll try to think of a way i can do that.

heres the amazon link anyway: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/BACKLIGHT-BATTERIES-MANUFACTURER-American-Weigh/dp/B000O2NYN4/ref=pd_sbs_jw_7]Amazon.com: 600G Digital SLEEK Portable Jewelery Jewelry Small NICE Pocket Scale with BACKLIGHT! 14. A nickel weights 5gs. Go to your bank and get $5 worth of nickels.

  15. Good idea. I actually have to do to the bank anyway... awesome. I also sent an Email to the people who i got it from, "Scales N Tools"

  16. terradactyl is right

  17. Ok I just figured something out. Its just not reading any weights. I tried to calibrate with a half liter of water (not 100% accurate but I thought it would be close enough to get some ball park readings) but it didn't calibrate because it couldn't sense that there was 500 grams of weight on it. It kept telling me to put on 500 grams in order to calibrate..... ;_________;

    Oh the joys of RMA

  18. Yeah, you're right, that is what tare means. The other dude was wrong.
